I'm almost ashamed I can't think of any cons I've pulled. In fact I don't think I've done anything really illegal since I turned 21 and drinking became legal...

When the Rolling Stones were in Edmonton during their Steel Wheels tour I managed to get backstage by impersonating a security guy.

Alot of the security is handled by the Druids rugby club and I know/knew a fair amount of the players back then.

So on the night of the concert I put on the T-shirt I had made up(black shirt with security on the chest) and went to the back entrance area. Walked up to the guy at the gate and asked to see John XXXXXX. He said he's by the stage...I walked in and picked a spot about 50 ft from the stage and watched the concert.

Afterwards went backstage and hung out with everyone(Mick and the band basically took off back to the hotel so they werent there very long)
Fun time!

The biggest con I ever pulled...

...was convincing the devil I don't exist.

Not really a con to my advantage, but when I was in elementary school, a friend and I noticed that a log in the playground area had a sizeable dog turd on it. We convinced another student to hang out with us during recess and we all sat down on the log, me to the left of the turd, my friend to the right, and the dupe right smack on it. She was unaware for quite a while. I suppose the whole thing could be classified as mean.

Oh God, now you're talking.

I worked in a bookies ('bookmakers', 'betting shop', if the word is different in other countries) in summer 2001. I constantly ripped customers off - example: they'd won 45.78; I'd help myself to a couple of quid. Do that 10-20 times per day and you've a nice bonus. I also used to rob from my employers (restaurant; I was a barman). Because the profits were so high, I was able to help myself to 50 or 60 quid in a weekend and double that over a week. I worked there full and part-time over 2 years, so earnt quite a bit and no-one noticed...ever!

When I was teaching in Kumi, I lived in a double apartment, but my roommate got transferred to the other branch and moved out.

John, another foreign teacher in the other branch had a crush on Miss Ha, a Korean teacher at my branch. He told all the other foreign teachers that she was his "girl friend."

John was considering moving in with me because he thought Miss Ha would welcome him a a visitor. But I noticed that nobody ever heard anything about this passionate romance from Miss Ha.

The guy came to look at the apartment on Thursday and said that he might move in on Saturday. I dreaded that, but I didn't say anything. Rather, I listened silently while John rattled in my ear.

The next day, I gave Miss Ha a note saying, "Are you really John's girl friend? If you're not, could you please do me a favor: could you please call John up tonight and cuss him out?"

This came a a shock to Miss Ha, because this was the first she heard that she was allegedly John's girl friend. She gladly honored my request and John cancelled his plans. I don't think John ever did find out that I was behind Miss Ha's phone call.

He told all the foreign teachers that he "broke up with his girl friend."

I once tricked an elderly woman into letting me help her cross the street. She didn't really need help, but I wanted to boost my ego with some guerilla charity work. If she reads this, I hope she'll forgive me. She probably won't, though. Read this, I mean. That was like 10 years ago. She must be dead by now.

More of a scam, but at 15 I managed a concession stand at the zoo.
All cash flow was tracked based on inventory of cups and popcorn boxes rather than
volume of Coke or popcorn. My first day, my trainer showed me how to 'fix' the inventory
and pocket a few dollars. Still, I felt too guilty changing numbers on paper.
I got the bright idea to gather and re-sell the used cups/boxes that still looked new.

Nasty, sure. But one guy there used to spit Copenhagen into the spinning cotton candy.
Another guy cooked a toothpick into my hamburger. I had numerous customers
returning popcorn with dead bees in it. ALL the stands were infested with rats.
I've drifted off, but believe these places are unsanitary.

This just in:

I ordered 4 pairs of pants and 2 shirts from Gap.com about six weeks ago. I received my order today, twice. Checked the invoice and I was only charged once... they just duplicated the order.

Not really a con, but I'm certainly not telling the Gap about it.

If anybody here has ever worked at a McDonald's for any lengthy period of time, you know that you get paid far too little for the work that you do. Well the Walmarts often have only a couple of people working late, so I'd take and order, name the price, and then go make the food. Once made I'd go back, give the food to the customer and take the money. As the customer walked away, I would zero off the food as if it were a mistake and the customer had changed his/her mind, or was simply checking the prices. I'd pocket the money and that would be that... easily doubling or tripling my money for the day. Being overworked, I never felt guilty for a second.

I worked at a nursery selling trees and the customer would have to go across the street to the cashiers with the tag, then come back and show me the receipt. I dealt with a few landscapers who would come in, give me $50 for 3 $20 trees almost on a daily basis. Since we could claim dead trees in the inventory, no one was ever the wiser. Good times.

This one guy at my first hogwan was flown over from Canada by the school. He was my room mate for two days. He was given a 200,000 Won relocation allowance upon arrival. Then the next day he claimed he was deathly ill and had to go home early from work. I came home and he was gone. A week later I get an email from him apologizing, but that he lined up this great job in Japan a month earlier, but they wouldn't fly him over. So he got my dumb hogwan to fly him over, hand him two hundred grand and then the next day he took the ferry to Japan and began working there.
