We (my fiancee and I) are going to be signing on with a new hagwon soon. Our current contract finished March 1, and the new contract is from March 13.

What is the procedure for getting the new visa- will the new ARC have a different number than the one we have had for the past 5 years?

We have our original degrees and sealed transcripts here with us in Korea.
Thanks for your help.

If you're still in Korea, go to Japan after you get your new Visa Issuance number or however they do it now. Go to the Korean consulate in either Osaka or Fukoka and do all the necessary paperwork. Your current ARC Card will be handed in to immigration wherever you depart Korea and your school will have to file a new application for you to get one.

You need two things:

1) a hearbeat
2) a degree

Thanks.

Can we apply for a new visa- with a new work place before the old one has finished? Our current contract expires March 1, but the visa continues past this date. Our current school said that they will give a letter of release, I should get it today.

Can the visa application still get processed while we are employed at the other school?

Anyone? We are getting mixed responses from immigration on the matter!
Does applying for a new E-2, and getting the certificate of visa issuance cancel the current valid work visa? The LOR is dated for March 1, and the new job is for mid March....Urgently need responses!
