| word of mouth hasn't been working too well lately. any other way/websites that would post openings for public schools? i'm stuck in seoul for the time being and like it here, so location not that flexible. |

| I would stay far away from Worknplay. Once you get a job, they will never want to deal with you again. Besides they have a very hard time speaking English. It will be very easy to be misunderstood. |

| I think the Worknplay folks are pretty nice. And, why do you want to talk to your recruiter after they find you a job. I want them to go away. |

WNP's recruiters speak English quite well, and they are more honest than most.
There are tons of other jobs on there, and some don't involve recruiters. |

Agreed, they are to be avoided, they are also lacking in professionalism, honesty, and integrity. It isnt even a language barrier as I had my wife with me, she agrees. |

Anyone is welcome to call WNP for a job and see how good their English is. As for honesty, fairness, integrity, etc., please put up and share your story. Generally, when people have a bad experience with a recruiter or a school, they give details. You give almost no details, other than accusing them randomly. What, exactly, did you expect them to do that they did not? How far do you expect a recruiter to go (compared to how much a headhunter would do in your own country, once they got you the job)? What situation makes you question their integrity?
Please feel free to tell us what happened, exactly, and give WNP the chance to say their side of the story. I know for a fact that they, along with many recruiters, have to deal with some less-than-stellar teachers, as well.
He's not with WNP, but Chronicpride could fill you in on that side of it, I'm sure.
Many teachers have posted positive things about WNP over the past few years, or at least had a decent experience.
What made your experience different? |

You might try the old fashioned way of pounding the pavement. It's always worked well for me. Get a haircut, print your resume, put on your suit, walk into any and every school you like, ask for the boss and sell your self. I've never applied for any job opening in Korea. Every job I've had didn't exist until they found out I was available and they decided they wanted to hire me. |

I landed a middle school position with W&P, which I found to be straight
forward and helpful as far as any agencie can be given the recruiter's
jurisdiction. If you're reading this post Ann or Michelle. "Happy Lunar New

| Perhaps one option would be to print out your resume and go to the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education. I've never heard anyone doing this but it might be worth a try. |

Sure when you talk to the school and they offer you a salary than you tell WorkNplay "hey guess what they offered me"? WorkNPlay will make sure you never get a dime more than they should give you. Not only that the girl was so g-d damn rude it was disgusting.
Sure if you're a naive newbie and don't mind getting pushed around give them a call. Personally I like to go by referral and if I am going to go through a recruiter it won't be a Korean one.
You: Ok I'm set ready to go but where's my plane ticket?
Korean recruiter: Oh no no no, it reimbursement you pay.
You: Oh.

You: Hey great can't complain, what did you think of the world cup?
ER: Awsome Dallas took it all the way, hey by the way you should be getting a ticket fed-ex soon you ready?
You: Damn straight can't wait, and hey thanks for explaining all the details of the contract and making everything so clear, so I should understand what's going to happen once I get to Korea with no surprises. I couldn't have done it without you thanks a million. High five baby. |

Worknplay offered me a very good job with the location of my desire, and the hours that i want to work...., and they are very kind and straight, they respond to your emails, and they speak English.....
sorry to disappoint u spinner but i dont know who you've been dealing with at worknplay....  |

The Seoul Metro Office of Education is now looking for several teachers to
replace those who had to leave half way through their contracts which start
in August. Your first contract would thus be a 6 month contract if you start in
March. You'd also be required to participate at a Summer and Winter Camp
outside of Seoul for 3 weeks during school vacation, but you'd be paid overtime.
Call SMOE and ask for a supervisor of elementary or secondary schools. |

Hey gochubandit
Just to let you know, I know of a High School job, but it's not in Seoul.
It's on the subway (Blue Line, #4), about an hour from Itaewon.
Public HS, great teachers, new area. Not sure what salary you'd qualify for (Level 3, 2 or 1 Teacher?). EXCELLENT vacation time!!
