| My friend moved from korea to the US about 5 or 6 years ago on her parent's E2 visa. We are currently seniors in high school and want to move out on our own by next January. In order to do this, she needs a social security number to apply for a credit card so we can get an apartment. She informed me that this E2 visa doesn't allow that until age 21, and I just wanted to ask if this is true, and if so, if there is anyway possible for her to get a credit card. if it's not, then what are the rules for e2? |

For specifics, talk to the local UCSIS office. They can answer all your questions about her status. IF she/her parents are LEGAL as an immigrants then she can obtain her SSN anytime. Go to the SSN office and apply. |
