It's that time again when some of us are glued to the TV watching the great performances of sports history.
First question is where can we check broadcast schedules for Korean networks and AFN?

Doesn't seem like Korean TV will show much. A lot of Koreans don't seem to care about the Winter games, with the exception of the odd "Short Track" race. (I love the fact that a lot of my kids know about "short track" but are oblivious to the fact that their is also "Long track" speed skating)
Prior to the last Summer Games they were advertising coverage well in advance. I haven't seen that yet.
As for hockey, I wouldn't count on AFN showing much aside from the Medal games involving the US. Let's keep our fingers crossed though. Sounds like the Americans have some good speed skaters this year, so we Canucks should get our fill of Canadian Content watching that. (i'm assuming the guy wanting to watch hockey is Canadian) |

Why would you think that?  I'm from Hockeytown. (Detroit) Go Red Wings! Like many people in the area, I grew up watching Hockey Night in Canada. In international hockey, I cheer for the USA (naturally) and Sweden. (I lived there for a year and I have mostly Swedish ancestry.)
Actually, I like watching most of the winter olympic sports, particularly luge, bobsled, curling, downhill skiing, and figure skating. |

Somehow I knew I was gonna get called on that.  You watch hockey AND curling!? Surely you must have some Canadian blood.
I agree though, Winter Olypmics are a lot of fun to watch. Never really got into the luge though. |

Korean TV will definitly show the events which involve Korean competitors.
When does coverage begin Friday?
Also, what's the time difference between Seoul and Torino? That's gonna really mess me up. |

I had do to some digging on the AFN Korea website.
Seems that the opening ceremonies will be broadcast Fri. the 10th from 5 - 9pm so set those VCRs.

AFN Extra event coverage begins at 4:00am Saturday morning, while AFN Prime airs another schedule of events from 12-3pm the same day.
Looks like AFN Prime adds an hour of news and then 4 more hours of Olympics air time after that from 4-8pm on weekdays.
Not sure about Korean schedules though. |

Heh, I guess you could say that. I did work in Ottawa one summer as a parliamentary intern. And of course the CBC beats American public television hands down. Actually, when I'm oversees I watch The National every day since it is the best free English-language news webcast I've found. |

If anyone else (like me) doesn't have AFN, right now MBC HD is playing the opening ceremonies.
I hope they'll show some of the action in the following days too! |

| Opening ceremonies are on SBS Sports now. I noticed that the male comentator has a pink shirt and the female has some strange shirt with frills and lace. |
