I'll stop by if you set a place and time.

I don't know Itaewon pubs very well - honestly I don't go out and drink much. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the Three Alleys when I last visited. Of course if there's somewhere with a live band that night I'd prefer to check that out.

Woodstock might have something.

J-Bar might have something.

Hell, Big Electric Cat might have something.

And then there's always the option of Hongdae, which has like a zillion places to go for music.

Basically, this is gonna happen Saturday night in Itaewon from 9pm until late. I don't know the location but I rather like J-Bar, if they have music. Maybe we'll move around. My mobile is 019-208-4423 so just call me any time after 9pm and I'll tell you where we are.

Pulling a runner, joe? I had the impression you hadn't been here a year... But don't get me wrong. It's good to know what works for you and to get in a good place where you can make something of it all.... but you are doing a runner, no?

Had you followed the soap opera of Joe's life as posted here on Dave's, you'd know that he has already given notice.

Ok, you're not invited.

Classic response! Good luck in China, Joe.

Farewell, friends, I'm going to China in less than two weeks.
I've got a great new job at a university in Beijing... you should be sure to visit me when you get a chance.

Would anybody be up for a farewell dinner or drink in Itaewon next Saturday, the 11th?

Good luck in China, Joe, but I'll bet you'll find more student loan and credit deliquents. Wink

and dude Kermo's church is boring enough to melt steel. I went 1 time and fell asleep in the backrow while be tortured by some ranting sermon from some spasmic dweeb of a preacher who should have been beaten up with a baseball bat.

Even worst I walked right out the front door and got hit by a damn car. My knees were messed up for the rest of the week, and I have since then converted to the Holy church of Elvis to bring the good news of rock and roll and bacon sandwiches to the masses.

I warrrrned ya! Didn't I warrrrrn ya?
The services are wretched (I can't sit through them either) and there was no small group last week (I haven't gone since November, but it's worth checking out.)

Anyway, thanks Joe, but I'm in Winnipeg for most of February. Have a good trip!

Guys, not many responses from the people who I know in real life, so I accepted an invitation to go skiing at Yongpyong, and I won't be back until Sunday morning. For those who want to meet me before I go, you have my phone number. Best place to catch me is the foreigners' book exchange in Seoul from 2-4pm Sunday. See the sticky on the General Discussion for details.
