Thought this might be one in the eye for those Korean males harranging Korean ladies for daring to marry outside the race!!

I recall seeing a Veitnamese marriage bureau down in Taegu, but had no idea the volume of Korean men going down the mail order spouse route was so high.

I wonder what proportion of the 'Chinese' wives are actually ethnic Korean?

The future I imagine will provide another source of brides for Korean men: North Korean women. And then the losers will be North Korean men for who will marry them?

It's an internet article, not a newspaper. Why doesn't someone tell them how annoying it is to read in that narrow column view. I couldn't get past the second page.

That being said, it's interesting and it's been going on in the states for awhile too. Maybe not as common, but guys get Russian and Asian mail-order brides all the time.

True enough, but as commercial international matchmaking would appear to be such a booming trade in S.K. right now I don't think Korean maledom needs remote English language publications to bring it to its attention.

This article just seemed to epitomise the extremely paradoxical beliefs of (some) Koreans on, amongst other things, the desirability of marrying a foreigner.

I was watching a program about this Korean-men-marrying-Vietamese-women "industry." It's popular amongst Korean men who are the oldest in the family because they often have trouble finding Korean women who are willing to assume the extra responsibilities that comes with marrying an oldest son.
