I'm teaching my last T/Th lessons today, and my last M/W/F lessons tomorrow, and I don't have any ideas except "play Scrabble" or "play Bingo". Give me a great idea for what to do today and tomorrow! Quickly!

NOTE: Most of the kids don't know I'm leaving, and I've promised not to tell!

Make up little competitions and games and give candy as a reward for the winners. Then at the end give everyone some candy so no one misses out.

My kids love pictionary. Split them into teams, and get one person to come to the board. They have to draw something (eg, sky) and which ever team guesses first wins a point.

Or write a really big word on the board and get the kids to write down as many words as they can out of the letters on the board. The kids with the most get points.

Make wordfinds or crosswords. My kids love those and theyre always super quiet while theyre looking for the words. Its great!

Joe,

Games and more games...oreo cookies...

Do you have a big screen, can play any of these premade jeopardy games at ...http://www.hardin.k12.ky.us/res_techn/countyjeopardygames.htm

I always play the Thank you game with last classes. NOt really a game but inspired by Communication Games....the Jill Hadfield book. I give them a list of things they can thank others for....they write a name beside each , cut them up and then walk around the class eating and giving them, saying thank you for....... Teacher demonstrates first by giving thank yous to each student. Can be hilarious...Thank you for speaking so much Korean in class! I learnt so much Korean!.....

Play "stupid human tricks" like on David Letterman. Many kids may be too shy but do it anyway. This shows you which kids have the complex. Some kid may surprise you! You can make "stupid human tricks" into a game.

Divide the teams however you like(boys/girls). Set some rules such as double joints only count as 1 point per student. You might want to tell them that at the end since it might be humorous seeing them showing any/all of their double joints.

Simply 1 point per student trick, don't be strict. No matter what they do(almost) give them a point but make them speak or tell the other students what they are going to do. Of course, you are the Judge.

You will have to show them something you can do as an example. I can stand on my head/3 legged stool etc... Be careful though some kid could hurt themself trying to do a backflip or jumping out the window in fear of having to do a "stupid human trick."

I played a kind of "hollywood squares" bingo game. I drew a five-by-five grid on the board and each team got to choose a square, then answer a trivia question to get their symbol in the square. Each team gets a question in turn, it's not a buzzer game. The "star" team won if they got four stars in a row (note: not five!). This makes it fun to block other teams, and is good for a half an hour or more. Unfortunately it's hard to think up trivia questions, and I only know certain subject areas, so I can only play this game a couple times a year.
