You should change your name to China Joe.

Joe_Doufu sounds like chou doufu -- Mandarin Chinese for "stinky tofu", which is a lovely snack food I learned to enjoy when I lived in Taiwan, the first place I ever lived overseas. So you see, I've had a Chinese avatar name all along! I reserved the same name on the Dave's international forums... but I don't think I'll use them much, their China forums are not very active and other websites are better.

HOW CAN YOU EAT THAT STUFF??? I tried everything that was put infront of me while in China, and some really gross things too. The only thing I would not touch is that stuff (though everyone says it tastes good, you just have to shut off your olfactory senses for a couple of minutes.) And using it as a basis for your forum name... Smile

It doesn't actually stink, man. Just the place where they make it stinks. I heard it has something to do with horse urine but I never really inquired. Take it over to a table or something and it doesn't taste bad at all.

Really, I'll try that next time.

Things seem to be wrapping up well for everybody.

I got a million won yesterday as an advance. Pay is due today, but I wanted it early so I could go to the bank, and they haven't calculated how much I have to pay for my absences this month and the remaining utilities. I expect they'll calculate and pay me the remainder today, but this is already more than I had counted on getting. They've agreed to let me stay in the apartment over the weekend.

My co-worker who was owed three months back pay got paid in full. I never thought she'd get her money.

And the hagwon was interviewing a nice Korean-American guy yesterday to fill in as my replacement. He's good with the kids, and they don't have to buy him a plane ticket, so I think the hagwon has found somebody they can afford who will keep their business going.

Lemonade you can always order from online shops....Durkee red hot sauce can be ordered....also check out Hannam...they have some hot sauces that look like they might make a decent wing sauce Wink

Grotto, thanks for the tip. I went to Seoul this weekend and bought "Frank's Red Hot" sauce at Hannam Supermarket. Nice store! Found my Flamin HOT Cheetos there too. MMM Very Happy Now, if only I could find Wishbone blue cheese dressing/sauce to go with my hot wings that I'm about to make.
