Nope. Umm I didn't contact them during my contract, for where they placed me.

Why don't you just pick your own job. Have a look on Dave's job board, there are hundreds to choose from. It is a bit of a punt, I agree, jumping into the unknown, but there are plenty of posters here who will give you lots of feed back on any job you are interested in. There must be thousands of Kiwis in Korea teaching English, come on over - it's fine. If you are available for an IMMEDIATE start PM me and I will tell you about an interesting job available at my school.

i am a kiwi that has recently come to korea (within the past month). The best bet is just to contact several recruiters, (easy to find the names of them on this website), check out each job you get offered very carefully, and don't get rushed into anything (and from what i have heard and in my own very small experience they will try). I know lots of people will disagree but for a newbie (my self included) korea is bloody confusing, an amazing place, but confusing.

I have read lots of posts from people saying that you should fly yourself over and then look for a job, but god seoul is big and confusing, in my very limited experience it made it so much easier to have some one pick you up from the airport and drop you off at your flat.

Also it helps if you get some experience teaching children before you come over.

And finally if you come over on a tourist visa make sure you have all your paperwork with you (eg transcripts in a sealed envelope with a wax seal on them, you have to ask for it)

It is alot of fun over here
