Yeah TOEIC is a bit of a waste of time, and it's by no means an accurate standard to judge one's ability to communicate. I know people who can communicate well with me in English(albeit with some broken grammer, syntax, poor word choice) but have a crap TOEIC score, and vice versa.
I know myself though my own language study that confidence is a huge factor in speaking any foreign language. One on one in some situations I might come across as fairly adept at Korean, where in other situations I just clam up out of self-consciousness. I think many Koreans are the same.
We're all the same when it boils down to it!!! |
