Hey there.
Quick queston about vacation days: apparently, I am not getting any of the national holidays off from work. While I do have 3 weeks paid vacation (given in one week chunks) I am not getting any of the national holiday off. I am told that this is b/.c I work at an English town where kids come for a week at a time kids so most kids willl just stay the entire week even if it is on the week where a holiday falls and therefore, I cannot have holidays off. I guess this make sense, but it still sucks and I was under the impression that under Korean national labour laws your employer is required to give you leave on National holidays. Does anyone know anything about this? Is so please let me know. Thanks.
Cheers,

What does your contract say?
Also do you have your E-2 visa and Alien Registration Card? |

Fast food restaurants are open on national holidays, as are a lot of places, so not everyone is guaranteed the day off. I'm not sure what exactly the law says, but if it's not in your contract, I don't think there's much you can do. |

Contact the labour board and ask them.
Its kind of funny....you get 15 days off a year which about equals the national holidays.....but then you dont really get any vacation time over and above those days:lol: |

Thanks for the tips. My contract doesn't say anythign about it, but the Canadian recruiter I went through told me we would be getting them off b./c it was required by law. This wouldn't be the first time my Canadian recruiter had misinformed me though: she is a bit of a nut-job. I'll try and follow up with her as well. Thanks.
