I wasn't that impressed with the Kill Bill series, but Hostel has reminded me why this guy is such a great writer/director. Is Quentin Back? Did he ever go away? What do you think about "Hostel"? |

Haven't seen Hostel yet, but a while back Tarantino said he wanted to make *the most violent* movie ever made.
I can't imagine. |

Disappointing. Sorry, it just wasn't that good. No suspense. You knew who was in on it far too easily. The gory wasn't even that gory. I don't get into gore, but based on the rep of the movie, it should have been better done, and more of it.
Acting was relatively wooden. Storyline non-existent. Go looking for sex and get killed. Wow!!! The Japanese girl... popped out of nowhere to have a relationship with one of the guys?? Huh??

Two things;
1. "Hostel" was neither written nor directed by Quentin Tarantino.
2. "Kill Bill" is a materpiece. |

Kill Bill 1 I enjoyed. Kill Bill 2 was kind of boring.
Tarantino was only an executive producer on Hostel (one of nine producers listed on this film_. That could mean anything from he did nothing but lend his name to liking it so much he funded/green lighted it. |

Hostel is directed by Eli Roth.
Has anyone seen Cabin Fever? His debut film. Excellent twist on the horror/gore genre because there is no killer. I'm into gorey films, but the dog scene in Cabin Fever made my vision go blurry and I got very light headed until I left the theatre...
Hostel is only so so. not very original. Some good laughs to be had.
It's interesting to see when people can't see past the big name (Tarantino here) and automatically feel a desire to see the movie. Not really criticising the OP, but saying that it is interesting how the human mind works. Jackie Chan does this alot, and his "Jackie Chan Presents..." titles have always been slipshop. I wonder if the OP's reaction would differe if s/he didn't have that name to draw the initial intrest. |

tarantino had *beep* all creative input into this movie! he just helped pay for it!!
its kinda like Killing Zoe just his name all over it to boost sales!
still killing ZOE was a good film and made by Roger Avary who helped with Pulp fiction.. |
