EFL law just became a pay for service site. Go check it yourself. You have to pay to post. |

As part of the restructuring of the EFL-law website there is now a premium paid access section. The yearly fee for this is an affordable $49.90 US; there are still also free forums for general topic viewing. |

Incorrect. Only the "legal" forums are paid to view and post. The general ones are still free if you register. I just posted there and I haven't paid.

Whatever. The forums they locked were the ones that were the best to post in. I won't be back there to post now. Who is going to pay that much to post on their site? |

I understand why they felt the need to do it, but I don't see it working too well. Everyone will start posting in the free EFL Topics forum they have, and that'll become a hodge-podge of what supposed to be discussed in the pay forums. The mods will then have to get into the repeated practice of moving threads into the relevant forums in the pay side, and PM the OP and explain that they will have to pay, if they want to read the advice and responses in the thread they started. That'll put enough people off and the mods will just get tired of dealing with the flak, and then there'll be a general relaxing of moving threads out of the EFL Topics forum altogether, save for any slander stuff that could get them into hot water. |

They're not really good anyway. So, big deal. They often have wrong or outdated info. Or don't/can't really provide it. |

Okay so where is that thread from a few weeks ago, the one where the regular from the EFL-Law boards was complaining here about how Dave makes money off of his website?
The one who thought suing Dave for having a bad ESL job in Korea was okay because he made money from the job ads?
I'd really like to hear his take in this turn of events.
really really.
But I'd also like igotthisguitar to have something pertinent and original to say, so it looks like I'm bound to be doubly disappointed today. |

Who in their right mind would pay 50 bucks to be able to post on a bloody message board? If Sperling ever decided to pull a stunt like that, it'd be time for me to finally go out and get a life.

Considering that I got banned from the free site because they didn't like my user name I think I shall consider this new site non-existant. Dave's has plenty of knowledgeable people and Marc the lawyer over on another site is as sound a source of legal advice as one will ever find in Korea.
Good luck to them if they can change anything, but I doubt they'll get very far with their current approach. |

Actually they weren't complaining about Dave making money. They were complaining about him not vetting the ads on his board. They thought that he should check out all the schools or some such nonsense. Nothing really contradictory in their new stance.
But I really don't care since I've never posted on that board or intend to.
As for the rest of your post, don't you think you're raising the bar a bit too high? |
