I'm sure a thread on this topic exists somewhere here on ESL cafe, but when I do a search I get "A conversation with the Dalai Lama" and approximately 6000 other useless threads.

Please point me in the right direction.

Hi. I just looked after my insurance recently. I'm doing it through AIG. It was the best price I could find. 370,000 won, if you can give them a notice that you had a clean driving record back in your own country for a few years. Otherwise, it is 20% more. How do you pay? In one big installment. To find the AIG nearest you, check the Korea website for the company and contact them. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the heads-up. I gotta look into this AIG insurance. I think it's pretty much the same rates I get with Samsung (but, then again, I've driven in Korea for nearly 10 years (I'm on cars number 3 and 4). I'm curious to know if being insured with them will have any affect on my rates once I move back home because they are an American company.

Are you talking about basic insurance that only covers the other guy?
