| I dunno, never cared for these places. Even the name, "PC bang" -- sounds too much like safe sex. |

Walk away from the Hamilton down the base of the T and make your first right. Walk down the hill like 50 meters or something and use the PC room there. That's my emergency Itaewon PC room. They never gave me any hassles.
I don't know if they have a non-smoking section, though. |

That's the best answer yet. That and the dump on the toilet seat one. Should've done both.
Far as the smoking thing goes, I wouldn't have brought it up at all. I'd have just taken off and never gone back. Depends though. I smoke, so I'm biased |

| You complained about smoking in a PC Bang? Who do you complain about the rain to? |
Er, no. I believe it was the "We don't want beeping foreigners in here" bit he was complaining about. And rightly so. You can't force them to enforce there smoking zoning signs. But you should not have to be treated like that in any business establishment. |

Eff that! If some dumbass sits in the non smoking section of the PC bang and lights up, reach over and crush the cigarrette. People can only walk over you if you let them.
Had smokers light up to me several times....I would point out that this was the no smoking section....most would nod, smile, get up and move over to the smoking section. The few who didnt, I simply grabbed their smoke and dropped it in their coffee...once they realised that I was a proper barbarian and not intimidated by their arrogance they would leave....after calling me a few choice names...to which I would laugh and reply in kind.
You can only be walked upon if you lie down and let them. |
good stuff!
did that once on Texas St. - after having a bad day... first the kid at the desk told me to leave, I didn't. Then a cop arrived! He went around asking witnesses what they saw, but didn't go near me... too much.
How about the PC bangs that charge the foreigner double? Another one on Texas St. clearly had a sign with such prices, I went in with exact non-foreigner change and gave him this amount. Dude chased me down the stairs and yelled at the top of his lungs as I laughed at him. He gave up. He was lucky he didn't touch me. |

But I don't believe he said that. |
what's so hard to believe? i still hear "waegookin this, waegookin that" in restaurants at least once a week... not much of it seems hostile, but who's to say that some uppity little starcraft ninja who makes 1/4 what a hagwon teacher makes isn't going to get up in someone's face because he has a chip on his shoulder?
last time anything like this happened to my circle of friends it was to my friend who got suckerpunched for speaking english. weeks later, he was in a burger joint in apkujeong - the waitress gave his order to someone else, so he complained. the fruitcake who got the order said "well why don't you go get your burgers in ITAEWON, then?"
he replied "for the same reason you don't go to kyeongju to get your kimchi, punk!"
see, this stuff is just funny to me... but don't go saying it isn't true, because it more than likely is. |

When I mentioned this to the college-age guy who was working there, he became a real jerk and told me he didn't want "*beep* foreigner" in there and told me to leave if I didn't like the smoking. He said he had nothing to do with it.

Well, I do believe that he said he had nothing to do with it.
Do I believe that he said he didn't want *beep* foreigner in there?
No.
I think you added this part to get foreigners to boycott the place.
Maybe your impression was that he doesn't like foreigners and you're probably right. And maybe foreigners should avoid this place.
But I don't believe he said that. |
Absolutely nothing about the OP suggests he's making it up. There is no reason for your suggestion other than that you don't like the idea of Korean racism being exposed. You're totally fishing here. Obviously it's agenda driven. |
