Korean Firm Becomes Victim of Muslim Anger
Four of the firm's local employees who tried to stop the pillaging were injured. Sammi-Daewoo lost 16 buses, four cars, a gas station and the entire 900 sq.m two-story terminal building in the blaze. The financial losses have been calculated at around US$3 million.

Bus operator Sammi Daewoo has estimated US$5 million in damages
A South Korean bus terminal operator in Pakistan said Thursday its business has sustained an estimated $5 million in damages from violent protests against cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad.... Wednesday's violent protests in Pakistan against cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohammed left most Western businesses in flames and three people dead, including an 8-year-old boy.

I remember China quelled the recent anti-Japanese riots/protests. They realized giving their people license to protest might not just stop with the Japanese but turn on the Chinese government. I wonder if these Islamic protests will have the same effect. First people will vent their anger at the great Satan and once they've burned down all the KFCs and Stuckey Fudgatoriums they may well just turn their rage on their own governments. They can't all be brimming over with contented joy with the way things are being run in Syria etc.

It's only going to get worse with the pictures that come out on CNN the last couple of days with prisoner abuse in Iraq. Nevertheless, the protesting has blown way out of hand. Muslims are burning busses, destroying Danish Embassies, and pilaging like mad! Tear gas is not going to stop them. The only think that will stop those little f***s, is martial law approach. If they see a couple thousand troops march through, then they will cut the crap. It's a load of crap. When protesters light buildings on fire, they are commiting murderous acts. This should not go unpunished. I don't give a damn what was drawn in the papers. A cartoon is no excuse to burn busses, embasies, or blow up half a country. If they persist, perhaps they will stop when they see the smoking barrel of an M-16. Others might think I'm cruel, so be it. Declare martial law. That's what the armed forces are for. The South Koreans should grow some balls and send some arm forces and start knocking heads. I'm open for comments, as I'm sure there will be plenty of them!

I am sick and tired of the "6th pillar" of Islam being taken out of context!
What bad could a korean bus terminal possibly impose against their religion? Globalization, encroachment of western values upon a 3rd world country my ass...you can't stop it! Killing innocent people is not the answer, though it does compliment their prime objective of gaining media attention (hell, we're talking about it arn't we).

Chessmaster made some good points, they shouldn't go unpunished.

Personally...and these are strong words...i think religion is a scapegoat for the weak.

A terrorist organization being 'democratically' elected (hamas) is scary, am curious as to what effect people think this will have on the nation and the world?

I keep wondering when radical Muslims will have the balls to do something other than burn stuff in their own land. A relatively small number of terrorists in masks, blowing up innocent people in their own country doesn't take much bravery. Mass protests against cartoons, resulting in burning all things foriegn means nothing. It's sort of like jumping someone in the back alley of a bar when they're not expecting it.

When will they get some balls and send some warships over to the Dutch homeland? Or to the USA?

Until they do that, they are just pussies afraid of head-on confrontation with countries that could wipe them off of the map.

The one where heaven is running out of virgins is just plain funny....if i can laugh to a South Park cartoon where jesus and santa claus are "duking it out," others should be able to laugh at themselves as well. If you cant find the humor in yourself, or possess the ability to laugh at yourself on occasion, I would be led to assume that you are not as comfortable, confident, and assured in yourself (speaking in general terms) as you would lead others to believe. The famous American civil rights activist/comedian Dick Gregory once said (@Hugh Hefner's roast on comedy central of all places) that "Fear and God do not occupy the same space." Words to live by for all races, colors, creeds, belief systems, and nationalities. Funny though, how in the midst of such horrible acts, bombings of Daewoo, tsunamis, suicide bombings and the like....that people become the most human in the aftermath of such nonsense, and help their neighbors regardless of what they may have thought about one another weeks before. Funniest of all, this is written by a self proclaimed agnostic, so anyone thinking I may have an agenda, I dont, I just have a good idea.

On another level Hamas have done some good through the social and welfare system it established a while ago however with their new found power they will need to rid the govt of the corruption that plauged it under the Fatah.

Hamas, once elected, actually tried to form a unity-govt but fatah turned the offer down. Were they s h i t scared of the added responsibilities they had accepted because why wold they want an 'alliance' with the Fatah that were so disliked?

Good on Fatah i say for turning hamas offer down as now they have so much more added pressure as the eyes of the nation are upon them.
Though this does worry me as i think other terrorist org's will try to follow suit?

But yeah, in the scheme of things...how does blowing up crap in their own backyard further their cause?!

Now that Hamas has gained their turn at the trough, the leaders will be co-opted in order to retain their ability to siphon funds to numbered accounts .

Look for a splinter group to arise to assume the role of violent opposition.

And then theres lemonade springing to a knee-jerk defence of muslims once again...ho hum.

I wonder if Daewoo will pull out of Pakistan now. Maybe a lot of international companies will stop invsting in muslim countries once they see these people wrecking everything foreign. Then the cycle of poverty will continue there, and they can blame the west all over again.
