|

My wife was born and raised in Korea. 7 years ago we got married in Korea and then moved to Canada. 4 years later she got her Canadian citizenship. We came back to Korea last year. She has her f4 visa. My question is: Would I qualify for a f2 visa? |

why did she get rid of her Korean passport? My understnding is that Korean women are allowed duel citizenship. My guess is that if she does not have Korean citizenship then no F2 for you, but could be wrong. Key question is does she still have Korean citizenship (I assume not as she needs an f4 (but thought it was an f6 or something like that)) and if not, can she regain it. My wife is also Korean and we never intend to give up her Korean citizenship becuase we want our kids to have both options, but she would consider having duel.
Also, as canada does not inform other nations that they have granted citizenship Korea does not even need to know you wife has both. I know this from a Japanesse ex girlfriend in Canada who has both cCanadain and japanese citizenship. She flies out of canada to japan and only uses her Japanesse passport, but otherwise uses her canadian one for all other travels. |

Korean women cannot have dual citizenship. Korean children can have dual citizenship until the age of majority.
Your wife has an F-4 visa therefore you are not entitled to an F-2. |
