I'm Canadian, so the "tapping" implies what they do to maple trees. I don't think this a commonly held belief though, so perhaps some research is in order.

Ah, I see. I admit, the roots of that expression had me stumped. The last girl I tried that on told me I was barking up the wrong tree. And when I tried to offer her an olive branch, she nearly beat me to a pulp. You can bet your ash I won't do that again.

Anyway, how 'bout them Leafs?

I don't know if I can say this or not.
But you tap a tree to get the syrup flowing. If you "tap" it right, you get the juices flowing. "tapping" is correct.

No, no, no. The full idiom is to "tap that out." It can be used to describe getting a bolt out of a stripped socket, using a hammer. Or tapping out a ding on your car. Or even tapping out some words on the keyboard.

Do you really think anyone who says this is really concerned with "getting her juices flowing?" No, you just want to "tap that out." Plus, the imagery of hitting and thrusting is there.

Unless, of course, you really love them maple trees. In which case, go with your idea. Razz

No, I did misunderstand the full idiom, but was just trying to think of a reason that would be used. Smile We love maple syrup, and their providers, the maple tree. But not quite that much Wink

If you want to stay with the tree analogy, I'd go with "tap root" being the etymological origin. This is the long, conical shaped root going vertically down from a tree or plant, providing stability, and presumably, in search for "tap water."

This option being the "root" of the idiom in question does have the symbolism, as well as visual imagery working in its favor. However, the key component of movement, that of thrusting and pounding, is absent in this etymological variety, unless you like to get your boogie on at the rate that trees grow. This, I'm afraid, would really leave your woman high and dry, as in "all tapped out."

"tap that out"??? You must be Canadian. The original term is "tap that ass." As in bend over the possessor of said derrier and ride it. "Hit it" to my knowledge has always meant sex, specifically a one night stand. The term comes from "hit this joint" or "take a hit of this" meaning a singularity of tasting.

korean celebs are average! just as is Jun JI HYUN

Itaewonguy, I am really starting to wonder what is your standard? Do you want a woman from Mars? That is why a lot of Korean women date foreigners. An average looking Korean woman appears to be attractive to an average western man, but with an average looking Korea guy, she is below his standard, even the Korean celebrities are below his standard. Why would an average Korean woman wanna go out with these ridiculous Korean men?

Well first off, let me say that not almost every woman and man is that good looking! Actually, I believe we are not all so perfect looking as people magazine tells us! What one man finds hot another will not...

What kind of girl do I like? Well first off. She needs to have a behind!
Most Korean woman are flat assed and flat chested! that just does not work for me! I like some curves! Lee Hyori, mina comes close to that look!
Then the face needs to show some attitude! Needs to express style and independence in her eyes! She needs to have a sexy smile with a risque look! Needs to carry herself with confidence! Needs to dress, as she feels attractive and knows it! Need a woman who expresses herself with knowledge and a sense of certainty.

(Have box seats at Eden park! a 500sl in the driveway! oopppsss I was lost there for a second!) hahahahah KIWI JOKE!

I do not want a Korean CLONE! Go to hongdae and walk into a club! You will pretty much categorize the room into groups! In addition, frankly that is boring to me! They might look the part! However, when it comes time to walk the walk! 99% of them fall over!!
We have a saying back homes! TRY HARDS!!!
AVERAGE!!! I mean Korean celebrities! Do not bring any DRAMA!
Because they are FIRST, OFF! BORING!!
They do not bring drama because they do not have any characteristics to bring DRAMA!

Being rich or having rich parents will get you married to a pretty girl here!
Having money or a big allowance from daddy will get you a pretty girl in Korea
Now a rich girl will get whom ever she feels like! Parents will have a big say on who she marries though.
A Korean man will find girl A attractive and girl B average! Where the foreigner will find girl B attractive and girl A average! Why? Well foreigners are into different things!
Some foreigners especially the FOBS will look for a very Asian character to get that true Asian experience, others will just go for anything Asian! However, you will find most foreigners will stay clear from KYOPO girls too. Because they break the whole Asian experience! Even Korean men will not go for kyopos to much!
However, back to looks... we all have different styles! However, the average Korean celebrity must look cute! In addition, innocent! Because Korean men like that! Because the average Korean men cannot handle woman with to much attitude or SEXY character! They like to fantasize about it for a night or two, but in reality, they know they cannot handle a woman like that so they like the cute innocent looking girls! In addition, that is why you see most Korean celebs on CFS and magazines who model for the large contracts bring that image!

Most guys that talk the talk settle for far far average girls in the end. Seems like yous a youngen' lookin for that dream car. You probably even have a pin up of a Lamborghini on your wall while driving everyday a Chevy. Sorry for the mini-baiting but what you wrote just was laughable.

Flame away but what you wrote would still be silly.

And I was so impressed with a comment you made in another thread. Maybe today is your off day, but you do seem quite silly here. Get back on the horse man.

You're joking, right? There is nothing original about it. Besides, I've been discussing the "tap" element of the phrase.

"Tap that out" is originally Canadian vernacular? Can you provide some proof, please, as I am not.

Korea is a small country and there are only a small number of small chested, small-butt women here; and an even smaller number of women who are not of small chested and small butt. Itaewonguy, it seems there will only be a very small small percentage of Korean women that are of your taste. And you think you have a chance with that small small percentage of women. Some small part of me is very interested by this not so small phenomena. Well In no small way I am starting to believe that Itawonguy is male celebrity in smallKorea. For some reason, when I thought about this, I thought small alot.

I never said I was after it or wouldnt settle for anything until I get those two luxeries! im not that stupid ..I was just saying what my tastes are!
and frankly what I ask for are not hard to find at all!! of course you cant find the perfect dream girl in reality! but you can get close! I was just saying what characteristics I like.
its not like I was asking for a model! or a rich actress who wouldnt come near me unless I was rich!
I just said I like a woman with some BUTT and curves! independant and confident! thats not hard to find at all in the west! little hard here maybe!
and when it comes to celebrities here I look for those traits too! even though I dont know them personally I can see it in their eyes, face, body language if they have the attitude I like !! not dreaming saying thats all I shagg!! just saying what I find hot!

of girls im looking to shagg and only date! and tossing off in the night! well the tossing off part I might be guilty of Laughing

No, friend, "tap that out" is not Canadian Vernacular, I was just joking that the only people square enough to equate sex to tap roots had to be farmers from Alberta. The tapping element if we must go into it, is the tapping of the buttocks with the hands while engaging in the "doggy-style" position. Lets not kid ourselves, its an expression, a slang expression about sex, no reason to get defensive about it.

PS> I have NEVER heard someone reply to sex as "tapping it out". "Rubbing one out", sure, but that is in reference to sex with one's self.
