I'm not very computer literate, but am trying to learn. I want to send listening exercises to students. The exercises are on CDs. I tried giving a CD to students, but they got lost, so I think it would be easier to send them what I want them to use for homework by e-mail.
How would I do that? I know nothing about MP3 and format things.
Would that be the same way to send files from a digital recorder to students?
Thanks.

Just record your lessons in mp3 format (... or whatever) and then send them as attachments in a carbon copy addressed email to your kids.

They can download them and then they can just click on them to play ...

Id say you should copy the audio songs(or lessons in this case) from the CD to your computer's hard drive. You can copy them into your media player whatever that is or just onto your computer. They will most likely be in .wav format which is generally too big if u wanna mail them about

So you wanna convert the .wav files to Mp3s which are smaller files and very easily mailed.

You can do this in your media player, only use itunes but im pretty sure all of them will be able to do it. Just look for something like ' convert' and then Mp3 format, it will also ask you proabbly about the bitrate which basically refers to the quality and while is very important with regards music it wouldnt be at all an issue for lessons to be done at home so a low bitrate would suffice and lead to even smaller files..

then its simply a case of attaching them into your emails and sending them off...

I know i havent explained this very clearly but dont worry its not too hard, depends on what media program you use
Good luck
