Howdy. My parents are coming for a 10-day visit in late April/ early May. I've been looking for a place for them to stay, but have had little luck. I live in Bundang, near Migeum station, and they want to stay at least within a few subway stops of me. The problem is, hotels in
Bundang, like much of Seoul, are expensive.
I've stayed in a Love Motel before when in other cities, and was actually impressed. The only major difference from other places of lodging were the lude vending machines near the elevator doors. My parents are small-town country folk, but I think they could overlook the vending machines if the room price is right. Should I just have them stay in a nearby Love Motel?
Any other suggestions on where they might stay? I'm looking in the 50-60,000 or less price range.

I put my parents up in a motel and they thought it was fun(ny). They enjoyed the experience. Since all of the places I've been to have confessed under pressure that they don't change the quilt between customers, I always bring a pillowcase, a top sheet, and a bottom sheet. (Call me neurotic, but I can't stand the idea of sleeping in someone else's sweat, etc.) I did that for my parents, and they had a great time. Go for it!

If your unsure about whether you want them too or if they want to stay in a love motel, give them your place and you stay in the love motel or with a friend.

They may actually enjoy the expeience of hearing koreans doing the nasty, from my memories of staying at such place and hearing tthe koreans it doesn't seem to last very long.

Jeeze, just do it. It might kick start their sex life again, which is probably not something you are keen to dwell on.

Your welcome, thats what I would likely do as I know my folks would not be keen on staying in a love motel, besides they get to experience your life here as it truely is.

I used to work the front desk at a Ramada Inn several years back. They didn't wash the sheets, let alone much else. I can't say how many times guests came to complain about stains on the bed, floor, TV, bath, toilet, etc. One time an enraged guest even came to tell me about how his toddler son had found something under the bed and put it in his mouth. I won't say what it was, but it used batteries I comped his room, handed him a stack of gift certificates, and quit on the spot.

Usually the "Jang" Yog Wons are pretty good - clean and cheap and much better than the love motels. Hotels are awful expensive though.

Wow, Ramada SHOULD be washing the sheets! I think we can all agree on that!
I used to work housekeeping at a Wandlyn, and we didnt wash the comfortors every time (assuming people use the top sheet, they don't really touch the blankets, right?)
We did wash everything if someone had a dog in their room though. So if you're really neurotic, ask for a room that recently had a dog in it?

As for love hotels, I've never had any complaints with them, I'd have no problem putting my parents up in one. Maybe I've been lucky so far. I wouldnt want to have my parents stay in a room with an infamous love chair!
Lucky for my, its just my mom and me, so when she comes down at the end of the month, she will just stay at my place.
