I think the mods are doing a pretty good job, but wonder why these insults have been let go without a warning?

You are the most hate filled bigot I've ever read.
Your ignorance is deep and profound, your hatred is bilious and dangerous. to Is this guy for real or what? Please, for the sake of humanity, don't have children...
What a fruitcake...
You haven't the faintest idea what "truth" even is.
Pure and utter rubbish from you, again.
You hate yourself. And frankly I don't blame you. I suggest serious professional psychiatric help is your only option now.
I don't feel xians have the right to shove thier idiocy in my face either. |
They are definately observations as anyone who has had a ?discussion? with 5birdies knows.
Perhaps they dont delete them for the same reason they dont delete the "you are going to burn in hell for your sins against my god" insanities posted be certain people |

It's OK. It's an abbreviation of "moderators". |

While the flagrant, over-the-top stuff is easy to isolate, modding usually involves dealing with judgement calls, where some things might bother some people, while the same thing doesn't bother others, and we have to deliberate and weigh things out. We listen to the pulse of the board a lot more than gets let on, particularly with the PMs and post reports that we get everyday.
As we can't be everywhere on this board and trying to decipher what some individuals may think is dicey or clean, the post report function is needed for you guys to give us your thoughts on stuff. It's worked well, IMO, but doesn't make it any easier for us to find balances and make judgement calls. You ain't seen fights like the ones that go on in the mod forum sometimes, believe me. But at the heart of it, we do try to keep the best interests of everyone in mind, and we do the best that we can, given the diverse array of stuff that comes to our attention. |
I agree that it is difficult for what you are doing. I also think the mods are doing a good job.

Brother fiveeagles,
That list of insults I collected for a particular purpose on another thread. Particularly as all of them were made by a generally reasonable poster, I see that my iritation at seeing them re-posted here is my own fault. A person(/poster) that apears(/posts) in public can not reasonably expect privacy(/non-re-post):CanadianCriminalCode. I do very much love you fiveeagles, so maybe you and the poster who made those remarks could make up? I think it's between the two of you, not for the mods.
Peace be with you,
Gorgias |
If it was all about me, then I would have just flagged the comments. Others have pulled up other quotes of most notable insults. Unfortunately, it is more than one user who does this. It's an attitude. For example, Lemonade is right about that there is a denigration of woman on these boards.
It's about people who have use insults and flames to prove their points. It's rather sad. |

I think that the mod's can do a better job of limiting membership to real ESL teachers who have at least lived in that country teaching at one point or another. Although I realize that any lying fool can intentionally fake the email statement claiming to have taught in Korea or have lived in Korea (Isn't lying punishable by slow barbecue in Hell?)
FiveBuzzards, for example, is not an ESL teacher and does not even live in Korea or has never lived in Korea. |

(Crossing fingers assuming you're not winding me up)
"You're" is a contraction.
"Mods" is an abbreviation. No apostrophe necessary.
People misuse apostrophes all the time, though usually it's used with pluralization and also words that look strange in plural form, like CDs. If there are capital letters involved, people like to throw in an apostrophe for some reason.
Anyway, apostrophes are for contractions and possessive cases only.
Class dismissed. |

But then how could newbies come on here and ask for help in that case? |

Apparently you weren't joking. Wow, you really don't know how to abbreviate words properly?
Mod's is an abbreviation for moderator's.
Mods would be the abbreviation for moderators.
And, as Kermo pointed out, "you're" is certainly not an abbreviation.
Again, were you just jerking me around? I hope so.

Dang, I knew that there was going to be a good answer against my suggestion. Maybe a polygraph test? |

Really? I see that your insults have been upgraded. Generally, I don't entertain false accusations, but for you Xerxes here's a taste of love.

Watch the video and see my teaching style. You might take a pointer or two. It's called having fun without drinking.
