Waiting for a red light to change, you stand a comfrotable 3 or 4 feet away from the curb. No one to your left, no one to your right. Yet, without fail, and ajumma or halmony will come along and plant herself directly in front of you, right on the edge of the curb.  You ponder, "did she not see me here ... is she really in that much of a hurry ... is this a race thing? (no, don't be silly)" You stare at the back of her head quizically and after about 5 seconds laugh to yourself.
The icing on the cake, I'm so freakin tall that within 3 or 4 strides each, I'm back in front! |

yep, it's a given.
if you ever want to have fun with the situation, get back in front...but just slide right in there so your but cheeks are touching their front side.
another thing i like to do when i'm having a less than enchanted day, is to step up beside the person. when the advanced turn green occurs, i make a well acted motion to cross the street, and then stop suddenly, looking down at the street as if i lost something.
it's amazing how many people will jump to follow you without even looking up at the light.
i haven't got anyone killed yet, so it's still fun. |

i'm tired of being told to be quiet in public. this morning on the bus someone said to me, "excuse me, this is a common area. you shouldn't talk." this happens so often. if you're on the bus, don't sit next to the foreigners if you can't bear to stand spoken english. at 7:00 am not even i am terribly boisterous.
how come no one evers tells the gaggles of middle school girls to be quiet? or the ajumas? or the ajoshis? passive aggressive b.s. |

Tonight I was walking home from school, and was about to cross the driveway/road to my apartment building. A taxi turned the corner just as I was about to cross the road, so I stopped and waited for it to go past. Instead of driving by quickly as I expected it to, it slowed down and then stopped RIGHT in front of me to let someone out. There was nothing behind me (no apartment block or anything) and about 50 metres of clear road before and after the place it stopped. I gave the driver a "WTF????" and walked around his car so I could cross the road and go home.

I'm always tempted, whenever a car stops in the middle of a crosswalk, to continue walking straight, over the car's hood. What do you think the driver's reaction would be? Would he hit the accelerator? Get out of his vehicle and thrash me? Stare dumbfounded? These are the questions which keep me awake nights.
And, would doing so cement my freaky waygookabilty?

| Personally I like being in the middle of the pack when crossing any street. Lowers my chances of being run over by a bus driver who considers the traffic lights to be suggestions. |
