Money has something to do with his wanting to find Dawson, but as a parent, I would think that I would want contact whatever the situation. Giving up a child or abandoned cannot have been easy on the conscience for anyone from that moment on.
I say, give the man the benefit of the doubt. I would be surprised that Dawson made enough money from the medal to support this man's money desires (although he could get lucky with some good publicity). Even if the man did abandon the child, wouldn't any normal person have a ghost in the closet over such a heinous past "sin"?
Just my two cents |
Dawson's dad or not. Scam artist out for publicity or father who lost a child.
It's too early to tell, really. |

Reminds me of how when, say someone wins the lottery, old friends & family members
( many of whom were never even that NICE to you ) magickally start pouring out of the woodwork |

Winning a bronze aint no lottery, but I see where your point is going. They could do a simple DNA test, and the poor kid just wanted to find his pop no matter what the method or circumstances.
I say, "Be careful what you wish for, you may get it" (anyone know the reference to these wise words--always wanted to know but never asked). |

Do you guys know anyone adopted?
Knowing is better than not knowing.
I hope for Toby's sake it's his birth family, warts and all. I don't they'll be able to gett rich and fat off of him regardless. |

My daughter read in her kiddie Chosun Ilbo that Dawson had a slew of would-be k-fathers come forward to claim the Bronze, so to speak. Dawson has canceled his flight to Korea until a DNA test has confirmed the legitimacy of the pop-come-lately's. I guess igotthisguitar called it right. (I just love this little guy's expression.)
I bow in your general direction (-_-)(_ _)(-_-)

Sensible decision. Still, I hope for his sake one of them turns out to be the real one. Even if it turns out to be an odious scummy grifter, at least he can put it behind him and move on. |

I wouldn't be bothered by a guy who didn't do his all to help his own son.
If there was a genetic match, I woud meet the son-of-a-kimchi stuffer and give him a wicked
five finger knuckle sandwich! |

CNN reported earlier today this isn't the FIRST TIME someone has claimed to be his parents
It's happened multiple times in the past. While his US mother is supportive, he says he's not gonna get all carried away & fly-off half-C-O-C-K-E-D. |

Yeah, my gf mentioned this the other day. About 4 different people came forward to claim Dawson was their boy. Oddly, when asked to give DNA evidence, they all backed down... |
