Hey,
No hockey on TV. It's quarter-finals time, and all I can see at the time Canada are playing Russia is three channels playing short-track over and over. Is there any explanation for three channels playing the same thing?

Because its a discipline that Koreans are good at and therefore have an interest in. During the summer Olympics they showed lots of (thrilling) women's archery. |

Koreans win medals in women's archery, in fact, nearly ALL the medals every time, hence the coverage.
And Koreans have won medals in speed skating, hence that sport's coverage.
My students are left thinking that speedskating is a bigger Olympic sport that ice hockey or figure skating. |

what's happening to team canada? for a while that whole gambling issue was all they were talking about on the TV's but honestly no one cares about it anymore. everybody here's embarassed with the men's hockey team but Canada's other athletes have been performing very well including the women's hockey team which won the gold again. overall people are pretty pleased with this olympics despite the men's hockey performance. I think their poor performance is actually making people forget about the gambling problem actually. |

There are some good players in this tournament. And those players are not on Canada. One of my adult students asked me who the best player in Canada is. I couldn't think who and told him that maybe the best player in the world is Jagr and the best goalie could be Hasek.
Canada could make a better team with an Mystery, Alaska type deal, but what can you? |

If you have SkyLife, then all the hockey quarter finals came on one of the 500 channels, 501 I believe. But I agree about the curling. In my province they've actually closed schools to watch the finals, since one of our own is going for the gold. |
