Comparing Warner Bros. animation to the Danish cartoons is a bit of a stretch.
Unless, of course, I missed the opening parts of Bugs Bunny, where Chuck Jones came on and said "I realize that my animation is deeply offensive to certain religious groups, but I produce these cartoons anyway just to make a point about that". |

True enough. But I think Muslim beliefs on the depiction of the Prophet deserve the same mocking that Christian beliefs on creationism, Scientology beliefs on psychiatry and e-meters, and Mormon beliefs on Jesus popping up in America and God turning faithless Americans' skins red all deserve.
To mock them less because they claim greater outrage is just hypocritical, IMO. I'll keep on mocking them all and applauding others who do the same. |

Truthfully, though, we don't know and don't care. They probably do, in fact, criticize Christians, Jews, and others. They probably have had caricatures of deities and religious figures other than Mohammed.
The difference is that it wasn't news until people started setting themselves on fire because of it. If Christians started rioting every time someone drew a caricature of Jesus or the Pope, there would be mass chaos every day. Sane people, people that are confident in their own religion, disregard criticism or blasphemy by another culture that has freedoms or opinions that they do not.
The fact is that many Muslims openly shout that Christians, Jews, or any "infidels" are sub-human. Why can't we say the same, be it through speech, writings, or drawings? |

Jyllands-Posten is also a business, and it has far more to lose financially by pissing off Christians than by pissing off its non-existent muslim readership.
Anyway, people in the West are free to lampoon Christ and the Christian Church, without the threat of mass violence and riots. |

It's their right to publish or not publish whatever they damn well please. They don't owe anybody anything.
Even if they did publish degrading images of Christ I doubt we'd see worldwide rioting from Christians.
