|
|
Director asked me to find another teacher. Said he would pay me for my trouble.
I posted on Daves and three other sites. Wrote the add(s) and spent time with the registrations. Sorted through about 15 applicants. Rewrote the contract. Organized an interview with a successful applicant. Maybe 8 hours of my time to date.
What is is worth? What do recruiters get? Has anyone done the same and if so, what was your reimbursement?

It depends on whether it's a North American, a woman, an attractive woman, a white, a young person, someone who doesn't need a plane ticket, and possibly but not likely teaching experience.
I know a recruiter and he told me that some places will actually pay a premium for a young NA woman. |

2 million? Where can I sign up? If a boss actually pays that, I'll eat my computer. I wouldn't pay that.
They don't pay recruiters that. I don't know what they pay them, but I know it's not that.
I'd do it for 100,000 Won if my school was perfect. No hagwon is, and no one can be assured to look after themselves properly like me, so I'd have to charge 500,000.
500 bucks is what you normally get for referring someone back home. In big companies. They openly offer that. |

Supply and demand Jacl!
I know of a director who paid the recruiter a 3 mil won fee because he pissed off two of his teachers and they walked out....he needed a teacher right quick and paid through the nose for one.
Average recruiting fee seems to be somewhere between 800,000won and 1,200,000 won. |

I've recruited a few teachers for my hagwon (including my replacement). I got 200,00 for the first one, and I'm getting 300,000 for the current one. I'm not doing it for the money. I'm doing it to help out my hagwon and save them some cash.

Well he did....... but I paid all advertising costs, picked up the newbie from the airport, drove her 6 hours back to town, found the apartment, sorted out the furniture, and sorted all the immi. stuff. Pretty good deal for me though!! |
