Ajumma alert!

I saw a group of 4, complete with towel-wrapped heads, picking weeds in the weed patch out behind my school on Feb. 17. So fresh weeds are starting to appear in your soup bowls. Enjoy.

Longer days are noticeable now. It's still light at 6:30 and I can go outside without a jacket. It feels like spring. Startin' to eye the scooter. Spring is great here (usually)...long. Could do without the yellow dust, but those days are few. Love the warm days, cool nights from March to mid June.

One of the most enjoyable sights is the strings of cars driving past their local cherry trees to get to Jinhae to look at cherry trees that look identical to all the other cherry trees everywhere else. Right around April 1. If you haven't seen the festival in Jinhae, I highly recommend it. Hop on a bus/train for Masan then take a local bus to Jinhae. Just follow the crowd. The cheap jack trash stalls are all over the west end of town. You can buy hammers, wrenches, belts, key chains....lord almighty, just about as many food traps for your kitchen sink as you can shake a stick at. And socks. Socks galore. All at higher prices than in the cheap jack trash stalls in your neighborhood. The crowds are terrific. Think Jongno on Saturday night. Just follow the crowds to all the popular eating spots. Korean food everywhere! Make your plans to attend now.
