Finally got this from the library (the DVD, not the book) and watched it tonight.
Anyone else seen it?
Comments/opinions?
(If you haven't seen it I would rather not get into a battle of cut and paste conflicting reviews found on the internet, thanks just the same).
I'd love to hear opinions from Texans on the subject...
For me, it's certainly clear that Karl Rove is a real dirty piece of work. But at the same time the documentary seemed to be mostly a rumour-mill of its own. Not knowing the background of most of the events, it's hard to judge the likely accuracy of their accusations.
I did find it very interesting that Rove had been fired by the Reagan/Bush team in 1980 for leaking confidential info to Robert Novak, and that Rove and Valerie Plame attended the same episcopalian church. Is one, both, or neither of these points coincidental? The film doesn't say with any authority. |

Is it about Dick Cheney, better known as Richard "uncensored" Cheney? |

No, it's about Karl Rove. A lot of it centers on what he did before running Bush's presidential campaigns. A lot of the disgruntled people on camera are Republicans. |

Rove was once managing a politican who was running against a guy with solid credentials as a prosecutor who'd locked up hundreds of sex offenders and campaigned for tougher laws. How could you possibly attack a record like that?
If you're Rove, you start a whispering campaign that the man is actually a pedophile, and you win the election. |
