This may well be true, but there is no data in the survey to support that statement. The data only compared three shows. Letterman and Leno are certainly NOT Republican shows. They are entertainment for advertising dollars. They provide entertainment for the average dumb guy. No question, the average TV viewer is a dumb guy. These guys are just too dumb to vote. The only show that claimed to have a political leaning among its viewers was the Daily Show. They should be embarassed by the result. They are also too dumb to vote.

Actual IQ surveys I've seen showed the average Republican voter to be smarter and better educated than Democratic voters. Although, liberals tended to be better educated than conservatives. There are a lot of really dumb, union workers in the Democratic Party base.

The people who are smart would get 6 out of 6 on this silly quiz AND they'd never vote for a Democrat or a Republican for any office.

So I got 5 right, but not the 50,000 100,000 200,000 and 500,000 one. I'm not American, but the answers seemed pretty obvious. How come the 'Daily Show' scored less than 4 out of six, and they were the best? Obviously something is funny, I can't believe that most American's would make more than a mistake or two at the most. *Unless they were thinking too hard and thought they were trick questions.

Bingo. Smart people [of both parties] go to bed early. Or if they're up late, it's not because they're watching tv.

Even if you call them Repubes (or rebubes even)?

Oh Ontheway, you mean you're not embracing the spirit of this thread either?

So, Gorgias, who is not an American, beat the American liberals on a quiz about American politics.

I'm not sure what the spirit of the thread was, but I've always considered modern day "liberals" to be pseudo-intellectuals. This thread was useful because I think the survey proves that the liberals are dumb guys. I'm still convinced that most "conservatives" today are just as dumb, but they weren't in the survey.

Anyway, EFLtrainer, I like a lot of your posts, but I think you worry too much about George Bush. Sure, he's a dumb guy elected by dumb guys. But if Senator Kerry had won, we'd still have a dumb guy elected by dumb guys. Soon there'll be another election, and most likely, another dumb guy elected by dumb guys.

We can't keep the government under control by always electing good people. We have to take away its power. Smash it. Limit it constitutionally. All rights are absolute and belong to the people. The government has no rights. The government may only do those things actually spelled out in the constitution. Any government program not specifically authorized in the constitution would be illegal. Then, when the dumb guys elect their favorite dumb guys, they can't hurt us.

As opposed to conservatives who are not even smart enough to be "pseudo" intellectual?

Dumb has got to be a relative term. If everyone's dumb the word has no meaning. Liberals are smarter than conservatives. That's been proven and well known for some time.

Ah yes, the hoary old libertarian philosophy, that'll work... Rolling Eyes

Note that he wrote "Liberals", and not "liberals".
Not very complementary.

There are no links or statistics to back this up.

It's simply a claim made by liberals to bolster their self-esteem.

I thought it was common knowledge by now. And I think you know that too, but alright, if you`re going to get snotty I`ll go find the references.

Er no, that would be a better description of your post.
