I just got the DVDs of Three's Company seasons 2-5. Man, that show is still friggin' funny. Case in point, landlord Ralph Furley walks in as Jack and Chrissy are putting up a shower curtain in the bathroom.
Jack: Ok, Chrissy, you get into the tub with me so we can get it on.
Chrissy: I don't think it'll reach.
Jack: Of course not, you have to unfold it first. |

My favorite episode was when Jack took to many tranqulizers because he was afraid to fly, and went to the party. He was a genius. |

Another great episode was when Mr. Angelino pressures Jack to work again for this mob boss named Mr. Canon. Janet agrees to help Jack get fired so that Felipe can get his chef job back. Janet plays an angry wife who blames Jack for infidelity and such to Mr. Canon.
Janet: For one thing, Jack stays out all night!
Mr. Canon: Boys will be boys.
Janet: When he DOES bother coming home, he beats on our kids!
Mr. Canon: Man's gotta relax, no? |

Don Knotts was hilarious in that show. Early Suzanne Somers as well, great way to get through puberty. |

The thing was, Norman Fell and Audra Lindley did not want to leave the show for the spinoff "The Ropers," but the producers said they'd be allowed to come back if the spinoff failed. The producers lied when Fell asked to return after the spinoff was canceled.
But yes, getting Knotts was a huge coup for the show. I'd say I laughed more at Furley's antics than those of the Ropers.
Too bad Somers got greedy and started demanding outrageous sums of dough for the time. She paid for it as TV networks placed a de facto ban on her for about ten years. |

The best thing about Furley was his outlandish style of clothing on that show. Knotts did a good job potraying on over the hill swinger that still thought he had game. |

Another classic moment. Jack and Janet are set up by a computer dating search, and decide to go on with the date. At the restaurant, they sit down at a table and are about to order.
Jack: Let's go through with it.
Janet: Oh, ok, we've been living together for five years, it's about time we went on a date.

Now Don Knotts has died. Good to see we have already spoke highly of him before his death. |

Rest in peace, Knotts, you will be missed.
On DVD, they have the original pilot for "Three's Company" that had different actresses playing the two girls. The guy was named David and instead of pursuing a culinary career, he sought to break into Hollywood. Thank goodness that pilot never aired as both of the actresses sucked big time. |
