Hello,
Blair Trainor taught in Wonju City. Did anybody here know him? He passed away suddenly at Wonju Christian Hospital a little more than a week ago. He was only forty and was the goalie who led the Sherwood-Parkdale Midget Team to the Air Canada Cup in '82.
Blair's first job in Korea was at a Wonderland School in Ilsan City. He worked there from April, 2000 to April, 2001. His manager's name was Jeannie Lee, I think.
Built like a pro wrestler, he walked onto the St. Mary's University football team as an eighteen year old freshman even though he had never played the game before in his entire life. Indeed, one of his best bud's from The Island wrote to me about his sudden passing and claimed in the same letter that he was simply unstoppable in P.E.I. High School rugby.
A very good guy who could be found at the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday afternoons sipping a beer and shooting the breeze with a few G.I.s and teachers, Blair befriended me about one week after I arrived in the R.O.K. An unforgettable man for sure.
Please PM me if you knew Blair. |

Blair was my colleague in Gangwon epik. A stand-up guy, positive & full of life. News of his passing was a big shock.
Sympathy to his family & loved ones. |

Sorry to hear about your friend.
PS. Roch, aren't you originally from Longueuil? Used to teach in Wonju and then went to Seoul? I may have met him. |

Hi,
I am from Boston, Ma. I spent most of my time in Korea in Seoul and resided in I'taewon near the Hyatt Hotel.
Take care.

My mother had e-mailed me about Blair asked if i knew him. I never heard about him passing guess it would make the Island news quicker than it would reach here. He died during surgery or something? |

He sounds like one of those rare people you meet from time to time that have a giant soul.
Sorry to hear that he's left us. |

P.E.I. GUY:
I have requested my friend from Crapaud to let me know how Blair passed away. He answered that he would let me know when he has time to pause, etc.
The Net has nothing about his cause of death.
Did you read or hear from somebody that he died in surgery at the Wonju City Christian Hospital?
Take care, P.E.I. Guy. |

Two of my friends were Pall Bearers for Blair. One wrote to me about the incredible honor of being asked to perform this great service for him. He also remarked that a very large number of people were at the funeral service to show their love for this great guy. |
