|
|
I live in Haebancheon and currently don't have any cable deal with TV. I'm willing to pay whatever it takes to make sure we have coverage of all the world cup matches AND have Mr. Motson providing informed comment and opinion on them.
I don't mind watching in Korean and I presume the domestic channels will show all the matches (at least until Korea get knocked out ) but it would really add to it with English commentary (=BBC).
Does anyone know if any company will be providing this?

If you get Star Sports you'll be able to watch the games in English.
As for Korean channels, well, they will be in Korean and MBC-ESPN will show all the games. |

If you have a home computer you can stream Radio 5 Live commentary as you watch the telly with the sound down. That's what I'll be doing. |

That's what I did last time. Only problem is the slight internet delay between the audio and the TV. It is worth it though for the superior quality of the commentry. You get used to the weird delay thing after a little while anyway. |

Star Sports is airing European soccer with CHINESE commentary, and well, I'm not sure if that will change for the World Cup. |

Thanks for the responses. Star Sports... really? Do you know that for sure. I'd hate to find it was in Chinese. They do F1 in Cantonese and then Rugby in English so how can you be sure it's going to be English.
As for the 5Live thing, I think you'll find that nowadays they prevent you streaming from overseas. Try it. I already have. Just before the event, it will stop and a recorded message will tell you it is only available for UK based listeners. Could always try a proxy I guess but I've never been able to figure one of them out...
And there is the delay which makes it useless for televised commentary... |

I don't know how that's possible since I watch all the English Premier, FA Cup and Champions League games on Star Sports in English.
It should be noted that I watch Star Sports on Sky Life. |

Yeah, I should've been specific. I get Star Sports via cable and it's the Southeast Asia feed, it seems. Sky Life has another version of Star Sports. |

I think it's only Premiership games which can't be transmitted overseas. I listened to 5 live commentary during the 2004 Euros with no problem. I'm guessing it will be available for the world cup.
The time delay is annoying but I find the Korean commentary even more annoying. |
