Say I'm re-signing, but I haven't signed the contract yet. I'm signing the new contract tomorrow. My contract ends end of February and my Alien card expires March 3rd. What's the process? My boss takes my card and passport to immigration? I go to immigration with my boss? Should I get a stamp or the visa in my passport immediately? |

You dont need your boss along but it wouldnt hurt. You take your passport, arc, new contract, & a certificate of employment (an official note from your boss stating you work there) & 30000 won. They'll probably stamp your passport (not always) but they'll definitely make a notation on the back of your arc. Yeh, its all done in a few minutes.
Tuesday's the end of the month -- best do it tomorrow or tuesday.
Good chance to get a reentry permit at the same time. They have the forms at immigration -- 30000 for a single, 50 for a multi. |

Cool, thank you. Didn't think about the re-entry permit. Multiple would be better. I'm thinking of taking a vacation in May. I guess I won't be paying the 30,000 Won though (for my new visa). Why should I? Guess that's why it's better for me to go in with my boss. If I can get a re-entry (30 grand) or multiple entry (50 grand) then it's best I go with my boss to kill two birds with one stone.
Good info. Thank you very much. |

Yeah, getting the multiple re-entry permit is a smart thing to do while you are at a regular immigration office. The office at Incheon airport will only do single re-entry permits, which sucks. |
