If you were a clove of garlic...

Tastes and preferences vary, but I can think of no fate better for a plump, juicy clove of garlic than my very own Garlic Soup.

What about you? If you were a clove of garlic, what dish would you like to be cooked in?

Chicken Tandoori and garlic french bread, both done on the barbeque.
If that doesn't keep the mosquitos away, nothing can.

That's my pick.

But really, this thread title is misleading. I was expecting that perennial old "what if" that goes,

"What if, when you were a small child, you fell captive to a particular species of zoo animal. Which would you rather it be, the ferocious felines or the sneaky simians?"

I figure if the tigers got ahold of me, I might be okay as long as I showed no fear and kept still and quiet at a safe distance until feeding time. Then, while they were distracted by the giant slabs of raw meat, I'd wave to the zookeeper to let me out.

But the gorillas wouldn't be so easy. It's not a matter of just showing no fear or showing them who's the boss. They're naturally curious and prone to bouts of everything from rough playing to bloodthirsty territorial warfare. (I've seen all the Planet of the Apes movies.) And of course, there's also the risk that they'd touch me in inappropriate places. I don't think I'd survive long. Sad

Is this your STRATEGY to hijack my thread into yet another discussion of your TIGER fetish?

Be patient, your Hobbes will be back from the dry cleaners on Monday and you'll be able to get that relief you so clearly need.

I dunno.... one clove of garlic doesn't seem like so much after living in Korea.... How 'bout popping that clove down with a nice mouthful of samgyeopsal. Sounds tasty! I stay away from that fatty stuff 'cause I don't want to have a heart attack in the next three years. Well, I do have samgyeopsal once in a while. Perhaps the garlic will cancel out the cholesterol and fat (hope, hope, hope.)

As an aside, those who eat the meat of big cats say it is very good!

For the OP. .

Depends- am I in a cold country or a warm one? Hanging out in a hot tub of soup would be great on a cold night, as would bruschetta, but I wouldn't want to be spread to thin, like I might in pesto or hummus.

As for the Guru and his tigers: http://www.tigertemple.org/Eng/index.htm

Definitely in some homemade Guacamole.
Speaking of which, does anyone know where I can find some avocados in Seoul? I know you can get them, because they were in my rolls from the California roll and sushi place, but I haven't seen them at any supermarkets or open markets. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
