I found this site a couple of days ago........
http://www.vitamincfoundation.org/
It's a lot to go over, but it's well worth the effort.
I still have lots to read, but I have started taking my vitamin C regularly.

That site:
We believe that the more vitamin C you consume, the less sick you are - generally. |
true! i've always consumed vast amounts of citrus fruits - 20 mandarins for 3000w takes me 3 days to go thru, I use fresh lemon with cooking regularly, drink grapefruit juice, orange juice - and I'm NEVER sick. Sure, I get a cold or two in Winter but it's nothing to me. A sore throat for one day is the worst thing about it - it's nothing! I'm always amazed to see people bed-ridden, taking days off work because of colds.
i'm reluctant to take vitamin pills however because i just don't like synthetic things. pills are for people who try to cheat the system - wanna be healthy yet don't put the work in and eat fruit and veg yet consuming junk on a fairly regular basis. pills have a stigma in my view although i may give VC tabs a try if they're really THAT beneficial!! |

From the info on the web-site, sounds almost as good as kimchi.
Seriously though. I've only had a three-day miserable cold once in the past twelve years. Probably this is because I drink a fair amount of orange juice everyday as well as eating citrus fruits nearly every day. Might also have something to do with trying to eat a balanced diet, staying away from sick people(sorry mom), and washing my hands regularly(said while scratching ass). |
