Hey, God's my passion. For some people it's sports, for others it's music and so on.

Thats okay!

BUT!!!

You dont have sportsfans coming up and saying how empty your life is because you dont have baseball. Sportsfans also dont tell you that you will burn for eternity because you dont watch baseball.

See the difference here is: People who like music, sports and so on appreciate it for its finer points and can understand why other people may not like it and they dont try to shove it down other peoples throats. They dont go door to door and try to get people to join their baseball group, they dont waste billions of dollars....oops I guess they do to! Laughing

5birdy you are not a fan....you are a zealot/fanatic. I dont think I have seen a post yet where you have agreed with another poster. You're walking through life with blinders on.

Ken your signature is awesome! I once had to transliterate 'The Lord Is My Shepherd' into Carrier tongue in northern BC for a chant. It was amazing how much the references had to change in order to be relevant. I only remember now how to sing it, but I vaguely recall buffalo and crows and eagles and hunters replacing most of the sheep/shepherd references.

I just want to let everyone know- especially Peemil- that The Great Toad says you don't have to wait until Friday if you don't want to. Benevolent indeed!

The last thing in the world I would want is a hug from you.

I find you one of the most deluded, socially backwards, hypocritical, obsessed, and offensive-to-women users on this board.

Really.

Personally I wish you would flock off and spew your backwards religious crap elsewhere because it seems you are programmed to think of nothing else....but no kidding, you run a god biz!!!...and this is a board for ESL teachers, not religious zealots who are in the business of selling god and really... YOUR VERY OWN INTERNET MINISTRY.
In 35 pages of your posts hardly a word about ESL teaching...but that's because you're not really here to talk about ESL teaching or help with that, you're here to direct people to your Myspace.com site and your very own "fiveeagles ministry" site in any surreptitious way you can--consistently, and all with that slimy little "god loves you" Jim Bakker-shilling-for-bucks smirk. I did not fail to notice the "DONATE" part of your website. All under the guise of "Oh I'm just here to chill at Dave's, man." Yeah right. "Donate" for what? So you too can live like Jim and Tammy? Your posting history gives your alterior motives for being here away in spades.

If you want to punch up your number of "internet ministry followers" to suck money out of, do it somewhere else.

I am not a fan of 5 eagles either, but I would like to point out that these particular criticisms are not really fair. I'm sure you're aware that there is a small group of posters who also have strong beliefs (politically left-wing), rarely talk about ESL teaching (that's true of most here) and run their own website-the link to which they provide at the bottom every post. And if you go to their website, you will not only find links to such places as "counterpunch" but you will also see a "donations" icon you may click. If it is 5 eagles views that you hate, attack those views.

And there are also plenty of right-wing posters who never post anything about teaching, though I suspect some of them may be socks of people who are too embarrassed to identify themselves with their political views.

Thanks RTeacher. Personally, I like your posts too!

Pumda?

As for me being an ESL teacher, yes, yes, I admit I am not an ESL Teacher. I don't live in Jeonju. All of its a lie. I admit it. I am so....so terribly sorry. I just wanted to be able to say I was an ESL teacher. It was my dream. Damn it. Now you've gone and ruined it. Crying or Very sad

Great Toad, can I come and join your monkey tribe?

While not mentioning him specifically, my apologies to Fiveeagles for inferring he's not in Korea or teaching.

I suppose what is misleading is that he seems to prefer prosetylizing on the boards most of the time than talking about actual ESL teaching.

My bad.

Are you looking for a hug too, because there's a lot of where that came from. Wink Thanks for that.

Hey, God's my passion. For some people it's sports, for others it's music and so on. For me, it's the big guy. I think, I am safe to say that other Christians feel the same.

People start threads on "sexual orientation" and "did Jesus exist", what are you hoping will be discussed? Non-Christian views? If that is the case, then you are neglecting about a 1 billion people. How does that reflect tolerance?

If I am as hateful, zealous, idiotic and foolish as some say, then I would like to know how to become a better person.

Personally, my goal as an ESL Teacher is to help improve this community. My hope is that it will remove the scorn of sexual abuse and other horrible tags and will become known for excellence.

canuckistan, after reading this thread for awhile, I cannot help but think of The Simpsons episode where the people thought The Simpsons were ripped off, but Bart just hid the burned/melted presents and e is found out, and Barney at Moe's says...

"Jesus must be rolling over in his grave"

fiveeagles, you are counterproductive. STop now.
