Hello,

I have the same one, no problems so far, it was made in China. I paid 49,000 last week there, damn! It plays everything, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R/RW, even VCDs. I really like it, I recommend it. I just hope it lasts.....
Sorry, I just read you want specs. I know it has progressive scan, not sure what else you want, let me know...

Costco's return policy is awesome. You have 6 months on electronics and 1 year on most non-electronic items.

1. Babo, if you paid 49,000 won for it last week, return it and say it is not what you wanted. They will reimburse you, go through the store, pick up another one, proceed to checkout and pay 10,000 won less for it.

To both of you, if you find problems with it, take it back...Costco will accept it and either replace or reimburse on your decision.

I wouldn't even do that. You can probably just take your receipt there and they'll take care of the problem. To be safe though, have a Korean friend call Costco (see website for phone #) and ask if Costco offers "price protection" (if the price goes down within 6 months, you can get the difference refunded to you). Most stores know people will return stuff for this reason, so they just return the money difference without arguements. This being Korea though, you never know. Have your friend call to check. If they say "No", they bring the machine in.

If you bought a by d:sign d:1070 DVD player in Japan and need instructions for unlocking the region free function (to be able to view DVDs from other regions), look no further:

1. Open the tray
2. Press the Setup button on the remote
3. On the Selection page, press the following buttons: 1, 3, 7, 9
4. When the Region Code screen appears, change the Region from 2 to 0
5. Buy me a beer if it works!

can you tell me if this actually works. If it does, I'll be buying this player.

Yeongdeungpo Costco has it for 49, 970 won. Now if I can only figure out how to make it work. Damn Korean instructions. Had to go back to Costco once because the dvd player I bought didn't have any cables in the box.

Superhero, others... you've been here for quite a while. Can't believe you don't already own DVD players. At least one and probably a spare. So as cheap as this unit is, what's the motivation? Would you buy a third TV just because it was dirt cheap? Or a third car for 500,000 won? Confused

Are you buying them as gifts? Gift-prizes for students?

Not surprised that people are considering this DVD player. Just surprised who's considering it.

Actually didn't have one... just a little behind on the living room technology. Don't really watch much tv. VCR/VTR has been out-of-order for about three years. Thought I might watch a video every now and then and wasn't looking to get top-of-the-line since I won't be using it a whole lot.

The remote on my current player doesn't work and the manufacturer is out of business so I'm looking for a cheap replacement.
