Just finished ironing my shirt in preparation for my first class of the semester and I'm feeling great despite being loaded up with 6 hours of overtime. My coffee is tasting better, my armpits are smelling sweeter, and my readings into the relationship between culture and language are more interesting.
Spring semester is in the air. |

You must work at a uni, right? I work high school and I remember feeling that way about four hours ago. |

Beaver, did you find my belt? I bet that's why you're so cheerful. It's a pretty cool belt.
I want it back.

Did you misplace it in the heat of the moment? |

I Feel Good
Wo! I feel good, I knew that I wouldn't of
I feel good, I knew that I wouldn't of
So good, so good, I got you
Wo! I feel nice, like sugar and spice
I feel nice, like sugar and spice
So nice, so nice, I got you
When I hold you in my arms
I know that I can do no wrong
and when I hold you in my arms
My love won't do you no harm
and I feel nice, like sugar and spice
I feel nice, like sugar and spice
So nice, so nice, I got you
When I hold you in my arms
I know that I can't do no wrong
and when I hold you in my arms
My love can't do me no harm
and I feel nice, like sugar and spice
I feel nice, like sugar and spice
So nice, so nice, well I got you
Wo! I feel good, I knew that I wouldn't of
I feel good, I knew that I would
So good, so good, 'cause I got you
So good, so good, 'cause I got you
So good, so good, 'cause I got you |

It's behind the hamper.
202fm.com pumping through my headphones, both monitors crammed with Word, Publisher, Photoshop, Firefox, Dreamweaver. Notes and ideas scrawled on scrap paper. Lesson planning and activity layout going on all cylinders -- it's good to be back. |

I'm modifying the pronoun "I" not the verb "to feel." "Good" is an adjective so I'm using it in the correct way.
I assume that you are modifying the verb feel with the adverb "well", in which case I am happy for your state of health. Unless of course you mean "feel" as in the sense of touch. If that is the case -- are you busy on Friday night? |

Well that's all very well, but do you feel better than James Brown?
(a very appropriate and timely question given that Fat Tuesday was earlier this week...)
When we were in love I pretended you didn't exist
That way I loved you more
You suggested we get married and move into a house
I suggested that we jump overboard
And live underwater in the lost city of Atlantis
Where mermaids sing
And tuxedoed dolphins bring you breakfast
One year later I was transfered to the moon
Worse pay, better hours
I was transfered to the moon
Worse pay, better fellow workers
I built our love out of blood
I went to the dentist and told him "take out my heart"
I feel better than James Brown
I feel better now
I feel better than James Brown
I was attending Mardi Gras with Fidel Castro
Bucksome cross dressers threw fake gold coins at our feet
As we discussed the fate of the revolution
Suddenly, CIA men dressed in bikinis
Tried to stab us with fountain pens
Fidel blew mustard gas from his cigar
And immobalized the lot of them
19 tequilas later we had a deal
Havana goes back to the mob
And Fidel and I open a chain of Kentucky Fried Chicken shops
Ain't life sweet? I feel good
I feel better than James Brown
I feel better now
I feel better than James Brown
I feel better now, how do you feel?

I had a class cancelled last week so my weekly teaching hours are now 14, down from 18. Teaching is now perfect because the 4 hours less of teaching and several hours less of prep has made the semester nice and comfy. Got a crap load of work done today and the window's open and 202fm is on and my prep for tomorrow is almost done and the multimedia speaking class is kicking ass and my introductory computer students and moving along nicely and are getting into Photoshop beautifully and my two freshman classes are great.
And, this is 25% week so I have just over 12 weeks left of hard work and then I'm off for a couple of weeks back home and a couple of month in Guatemala.
The new drip coffee thing is working great, my computer is still the best on the block, and my house is relatively clean.
It's a good thing, this life. |
