Remember to put my heating on? Oh yeah, thanks - jeez, I would've forgotten had you not told me and sat there freezing my you-know-whats off!

I'm not dressed warmly enough? I'll be the judge of that, thank you. I can walk into work with just a shirt on and my thin leather coat not fastened because I loath heat, can handle the cold (actually enjoy it) and have an excellent immune system thanks to consuming vast quantities of fruit (vit C) and being of excellent English stock.

Look, man. Many waeguks here are from Canada and states of the US that have punishingly cold winters, WORSE than Korea indeed! Imagine that! Where do you think we all come from - Singapore? Southern Spain? Have you ever done your afternoon shopping in the freezing English wind and rain? Okay, it's not -10, I'll grant you that, but it's torturous, evil weather from hell! Korean winter is LAME! England in August at 27 degrees Celcius is a HELL of a lot more uncomfortable than Spain or Italy at 35, because England is WET and humid. And hey - no air-con either! Suffer, tourist! English weather would CRUSH a Korean, both in winter and summer. And it even pi55es down with rain and makes you feel thoroughly miserable in Spring!

Listen up and listen good! I'm the genetic inheritor of a people that, not that long ago (around about the same time you were getting your butt thoroughly kicked by the Japanese, come to think of it) owned a quarter of this planet, from frozen tundra to desert to equatorial tropics. Two world wars were fought (and won) involving a total of 8 or 9 European winters - which can be harsh. I think I might just be able to hold my own in a lame bit of chill. You're looking out for me and trying to be nice, and I appreciate that, but it's repetitive and is driving me NUTS! Telling me to keep warm, to not catch a cold, is obvious, superfluous information, especially when it's said for 90th time.

Sorry...like a naked lady lying down who's just had a spider land on her from above, I had to get that off my chest.

That triviality aside, great country, great city, great job, great girls.

Not familiar with that annoying habit. I'm actually still turning on the mobile electric heater in my classroom because I don't think I should endure even a little bit of chill and I don't think that I should have to wear my jacket in class. I come from Eastern Canada where it's a hell of a lot colder than England, but in the house it was always warm. Screw putting up with a little bit of chilliness.

On the other hand, I would got outside in a snowstorm with not gloves and sneakers and wipe my car off with my bare hands.

This time of year is really humid though and I find it kind of depressing. I want the warm weather to come now. I guess I'm too used to Taiwan and the two years I spent in that sub-tropical climate. I've been here for a little over a year.

How are these two posts on this thread for long-winded? Hmm?

My school's owners are from California (the wife was born in Korea) and we are from Washington. They are always telling us how cold it is here and offering us rides home, but we only live 5 minutes away. I appreciate the offer, but I can handle a short walk in what I consider pleasant weather.

Koreans, when speaking Korean to each other, have a litany of trite sayings that they toss around. they'll ask you �� �Ծ���� but they don't plan on feeding you, and they'll say ���� �����ؿ� but they don't really worry that you'll get a cold.
