Thanks for the interest.
My girlfriend, an SNL intern, drunkenly asked Thom about his paralysed eye, "Mr. Yorke is your eye always like that, or only when you've been drinking?"
I received the "f*ck off" an hour later, when hoping he forgot who I was, I sheepishly asked for a photo together. He still remembered. |

I remember when I was a kid, my family went to get lunch at The Brown Derby, a famous restaurant in Los Angeles. We were waiting to be seated, and Tom Bosley (who was relatively famous at the time because he played the dad in Happy Day) came in and told the host that he was there before my family. The host told him very calmly that he would gladly seat him after my family. At this point Bosley became belligerent and said "WTF! don't you know who I am!" The host let him know that he did indeed know who he was, but that he would have to wait his turn.
As he stormed out the door, he said f-you to my mom, dad, uncle, grandma, three little sisters and myself.
It was refreshing to see a restaurant not give in to a belligerent celebrity. However, I never say Mr. Cunningham the same way again. |

i punched david duchovny once. he was grabbing my friend's ass. i told him if he didn't stop it i was going to school him. he clearly thought that 2 seasons of the nerd files gave him carte blanche to grab ass.
he told me to f off, i dropped him. his bodyguard got all pissy but my friends talked that guy down. |
Duchovny sure came across like a whiny bi-yotch when it came to Vancouver, didnt he.
His wife is so hot, though. |

Alright, I'll give you the coles notes version, because I've told it sooooo many times it's lost its lustre for me.
17 years ago I walked up to Martin Sheen while he was eating a salad in the open food court of the largest mall (Aberdeen) in my hometown (Kamloops) where he was directing a film nearby (Cadence). I just wanted to let him know I loved his movies and he then asked me to sit down and join him (the two he was with had gone somewhere). Charlie Sheen and his glamour girlfriend walked up and when I said hi and introduced myself he just looked with distaste at my outreached hand (to shake - his father was so friendly, I assumed the son would be too) and gave me a cold shoulder, pivoting to talk to his father (an "f-off" by body language). Two minutes later Charlie was off and away and Martin actually apologized to me!! for his son's behaviour (though he hadn't mentioned it when Charlie was there - those were the cocaine days for Charlie, still a bad boy).
as an epilogue: a few nights later my best friend and i went to one of the few then-hopping local nightclubs (Go Bananaz) and saw Charlie, his gal and film co-star Gary Busey there. I ended up going home just after midnight (had a girlfriend who was still in high school). My best friend stayed and told me the next day that Gary Busey was making moves on Charlie's gal and that Charlie pushed Gary, then gary hit Charlie with a knucklepunch, then they scruffed, pulled and hit a bit before the fight was broken up by the quick bouncers. I DIDN'T believe my friend (he can pull a leg sometimes) despite his absolute defense of the story, until a newspaper story soon came out stating that Gary Busey was suddenly called back to Hollywood for some other engagement and Martin Sheen would step in and act in the movie (as well as his role as director). |
I remember this movie as I was living in Kamloops at the time.
a few of my friends got parts as soldiers in the movie.
Do you know Aaron Shephard?
he became quite good friends with Marty Sheen and the family. I guess he even went down and stayed with Martin a few times.
Aaron got a job maintaining the fleet of army jeeps, tanks and trucks they used for the movie. |
