Someone here was mourning the loss of frozen peas on one of the online sites a while back but I can't remember who for the life of me.
Anyway, the foreign food market next to WhattheBook has frozen peas in stock, among it's other wonders. Whoever was looking for them wasn't in Seoul, but maybe the combo of books and peas would make the trip worth while? |

I thought the grabby hookers were the big draw up there. |

Actually, I was looking for some frozen beans and discovered that none of the supermarkets here have any frozen vegetables. I would go for frozen beans, peas, or corn. The canned variety is nasty. I also wanted some tomato soup and beef broth (for a soup) but couldn't find any. Suggestions? I'm a long way from Seoul, by the way. |

peppermint,
That was me! I've been suffering from frozen pea withdrawal every time I do a stir fry.
Is this foreign food place immediately next to Whatthebook? or just in close proximity? I've never actually been to the real physical world store.
(Someone mentioned a Mexican food place across from the park in Hongdae...spent far too much time on the coldest day of the year fruitlessly searching for it. )
Thanks muchly for the tip on the location. Now if I can only work out a way to get them to survive a 4 1/2 hour bus trip after the subway trip from Itaewon to Nambu. |

Ya-Ta Boy:
I have bought fresh peas at the foreign food mart, also string beans. BUT, they do not have them all the time. I even have gotten tomatilos! I would advise you to get their phone number and call them.
Yes, they can survive the trip. Just make sure they are in stock before you go there.
This is a great store. The have frozen lamb; with bone, with out bone, and also at times ground. They have liver and kidney also. |

Better be careful you might just get accused of not being able to score with women. |

The foreign food market is two doors down the hill from what the book, same side of the street and it has a much larger sign.
As for getting them home, I'd imagine frozen peas would stay frozen for quite a while, but there's a baskin robbins at Itaewon subway station. You might be able to get some dry ice or a styrofoam cooler box from the girls there if you buy ice cream. |
