Well, I made a late-night soju run to the super and picked up some Smoky Bacon Chips to accompany my SoCo. They looked OK on the package.
Got 'em home and opened 'em up.
Real ingestible food does not come in pre-packaged shapes that are exactly 2" X 3/4" X 1/8". Nature does not do that. Nature also does not put standardized stripes of a mysterious brownish stuff on food.
Sorry, boys. Adding flavor to rice cake stuff is not enough to do it in my book. Maybe that isn't what they really are, but that is what the texture feels like. It would help if the flavor were stronger, too.
Moral: You can't judge anju by the picture on the package. |

Ummm...4 teaspoons of sugar in a cup of tea. I don't think Coke and soju is too sugary.
Yeah, I did. I went back to my usual. Hummus. |

Anyone who voluntarily drinks soju doesn't need to be commenting on the quality of any food products. Unless you're gonna complain that a filet mignon is too savory or a kettle chip too crispy.
However. I do agree. I made it exactly five chips into a bag of those one time. Straight nasty. |

But you did inspect the contents very carefully, I hope.

Yeah, really. Soju. That's terrible stuff. Bad for the liver.
Has anyone tried the habenero(sp?) chips. They're not so special. Pretty hot. But if you're eating like let's say a sausage cheese dog and sliced cabbage with may along with the chips then it's an interesting experience. You kind of let the mayo drip on the chips or eat the cabbage-mayo and chops together after taking a few bites of the dog. Not bad.
Has anyone tried the sausage? Not too bad. They have kimchi, paprika, vegetable, pepper, kalbi, curry, etc. |
