and we are starting to get the midnight runners and bailers asking how to do it without getting hauled off to Immi jail and have their fingernails pulled out.

If they were tough, they'd last at least...oh, I don't know, maybe 3 weeks?

What do you consider the cut-off point between wimp and someone who gave it the old college try?

I think 2 to 3 months. If you try it that long and decide Korea just isn't for you, I can respect it. Under that, and I figure Daddy's basement is probably your rightful permanent address.

What's your take on it?

Well, how do you know that they haven't been working since the old school year?

But I would say that 3 months or so would be the cut-off point. Unless you work for a really really bad director who starts shafting you as soon as the E-2 is in your passport because now he "owns you".

I had an employer like that. The conversation went something like this.

Me: "Why are you changing the contract?"

Him: "This is a better contract."

Me: "I already signed the old one."

Him: "You must sign this one."

Me: "Why?"

Him: "I OWN YOU! YOU ARE MINE!"

Me: "Take a flying beep into the nearest sun." (walks out)
