I just got assigned 4 hours a week with Middle School kids. I have extremely limited experience teaching that age level. In the high school classes we are using Side By Side Book 1.
Question: For those with experience with that series and with that age level, what is your opinion of the difficulty level? (I will have Grades 1, 2 and 3 mixed together.) Is Side By Side Book 1 an appropriate choice for the Middle Schoolers? If not could you recommend something better? |

My personal favourite is the Cutting Edge series. Take a look at the Elementary and Pre Intermediate books. |

First of all, thanks to both of you for the suggestions.
Just wondering here, does it mean you think Side By Side is inappropriate for my middle schoolers? |

Get Real Starter or Get Real 1.
Be sure to buy the Teachers CD. The one in the back of the student books has only some of the conversations. |

I think that Side by Side would be appropriate as there are a lot of drills and grammar in the books which Korean students are used to. |
