So, I don't post to Korean accounts much - but I've read some posts recently where people are encountering some difficulties with regards to sending spam ... err, I mean emails ... to Korean mail domains (hanmail etc ... )

I just did a small test on this early to my gf's hanmail account and it seemed to work fine. I guess maybe other people can test it out further.

It's really just a simple gmail option. But it should work fine with yahoo as well. Basically on gmail accounts you get the option of masking your domain address when you send an email. So that say, if you run www.widgetcompany.com and you want to use gmail as your mail account - you can get gmail to change the 'FROM' section of the mail header to [email protected] instead of [email protected]

This gives the impression to the Korean servers that your message came from widgetcompany instead of from gmail. Like I said, I run an internet site and I posted through fine using myaddress.com but the same message got blocked when I used from: gmail.com and yahoo.com

Anyway, on gmail go to settings->accounts->add another email address
Now gmail will send a confirmation mail to your other email domain. Post the confirmation code and then just change the FROM: section in a drop-down menu whenever you want to post to a Korean mail account.

A suggestion for another domain name came from Confused Canadian on another thread ... www.mail.rediff.com, apparently their mails get through usually. If not then find a free account that you can route your mails through. Even better here would be a free account that beats the Korean 'spam/domain' filters and that allows you to automatically forward your mails to your 'home' email account. That way your friend could reply to your mail and it would get straight to you. Otherwise, they'll have to remember not to reply to your mail directly, but to switch the address back to your home account.

I guess there's still some trial and error to go here so pls feel free to update the thread with what works best and what doesn't work at all ... Smile
I've got some gmail invitations to give away, so if anyone wants some jsut pm me ...

Just tell Koreans not to email you with hanmail. Problem solved.

your solution does not work for everyone. I have 9 domains and not one of them can get through to hanmail.net.

That's probably because all your mail servers are state-side. If there is one thing for sure, it's that there are domains out there on these guy's whitelist right ? I mean who would have an email account that on-one else in the whole world can send mail to ?

All someone has to do is to find one of these 'whitelist' domains, and then bingo - their in.

If all else fails you can just open a www.hanmail.net account and use that to mask your gmail/yahoo account. That would work for everyone, or at least everyone who wants to mail hanmail anyway.

Here's the address for hanmail registration

https://register.daum.net/JoinInDaum/html/general.html

Just cliick the 'accept' and then fill in your details .... you don't need your social security number to register apparently
