Actually Korea appears to be a relatively low crime country on the outside but sexual assualt is rampant here as is spousal abuse. Korea is a country in which the people do not like confrontation and they also do not like to "air their home business" to others. So when a girl is abused or a man for that matter, it is usually kept quiet. I believe that story about the girl who was abused many times, it may have gotten blown up some as it went from person to person but it probably did happen.

As for the previous sexual assualt on the teacher from my school, it did indeed happen. I spoke to many of her friends who were still here and they all backed it up. When I told the AD, I was informed that the owner wanted to go to the police but that there was too much red tape involved and that they best thing to do would just be too move me.

I feel bad about the children, cause I would like to say BYE but at the same time working in a respectful environment goes two ways and given the history of this school I know that I would get screwed. With that said: During a conversation with the AD one night I was told that the boss would give me 30 days notice if I kept insisting on "bringing up matters" and that he would also make sure I could not work anywhere else in Korea!

Is there no possible way you can screw this a-hole back? Do you have the parents' numbers? Do you speak any Korean? The departures lounge does have telephones, you know, or if you have a handphone and are leaving anyways it would be a fun way to kill a few hours after you've cleared customs.

Be sure to blacklist him where you can once you've left the country.

Sorry again to hear about the way things turned out.

Run up some bills. Swipe his cell phone, then place a call to some automatic thing in a foreign country and put his phone back in a place he will find it after hours (or better yet) days of searching. If you wear gloves there will be no prints.

And the above idea is good. Call the parents and destroy his reputation.

I'm not sure about swiping the phone but yes, be sure to run up the bills as much as you can. At my old hogwan there was a Kiwi who managed to run up astronomical bills on his Internet account. There was some way, I think, that he was buying programmes and getting it billed to his server.

If you do have a landline, leave it on an international call 48 hours before you leave.

The good thing about swiping the phone is, if you use gloves, is that they cant pin anything on you. SOMEONE did it, it was probably the pissed off foreigner, but theres no proof. With the landline they can. Also, cell phone calls are more expensive. Swipe the phone, place an international call to an automatic weather service in Brazil, Chile or Nigeria and put it behind some books. Hopefully the batteries last a while.

You guys are out to lunch. You pull any of that nonsense and the only ones who would look bad would be you guys. You don't like someone, refusing to work for them is good enough. Try to ruin their business and you can set yourself for serious trouble.

I agree with the basics of what boshingtan is saying.

Just get out of dodge, no need to go and try to be extra nasty thereby risking consequences you do not need now is there?

The Ops situation sounds bad enough, she should just bolt after pay day and count her blessings.

Hijack? Or maybe its a tangent, but still relevant to the discussion. Is that a troll in your avatar? Suits you. No one else had a problem with the post but you officer. The OP even elaborated on the point.

OP, don't worry about it, there ought not to be any reason you'll need to open your mouth when going through the airport.

Blacklisting the school should be revenge enough there- though I'd consider leaving a "present" for the building security guard.

As fror Grotto's claims that this country is safe

NEWSFLASH! burly white guys aren't normally targets for sexual harassment or assault. Rolling Eyes
