Spring 2001 was really bad in Seoul compared to the 4 years after it. One day, visibility was half a block.
I ended up with a throat infection, although that could have also been caused by me drinking out of my shoe on a dare at a bar
This is the first year I'm missing the yellow dust phenom and I don't miss it! |

What they call sky blue here is actually an extremely light chantilly blue, after all.
Next time you travel abroad, load a new film in your camera. Take half of the pictures in Korea and take the rest of the film abroad. You'll notice that the colours on the pictures taken in Korea are very pale while the others are more vibrant. |
You're crazy. |

i think that if you have a sensitive body, then yellow dust will affect you more. my boyfriend gets mild symptom's whereas my ears, eyes, throat and lungs are all very aggrevated.
unlike fan death, the yellow dust is not some wacky korean fallacy.
the yello dust comes from the gobi dessert. saumsung donated a ton of money last year to plany trees at the edge of the dessert, hoping it would curve the dust factor. hopefully that will help in the future. |

I'd be surprised if this works because of the general trend now towards climate change and aridification. Either way, the project to restore the tree cover with native saxaul trees has been slow.
"the problem has worsened in recent years because of improper land use.
Overgrazing and deforestation across the north has damaged the fragile ecosystem, rendering oases and rivers dry, and worsening the desert environment. "

Why? Don't saxaul trees reproduce faster? |

not sure but I get the impression some of the funds were misappropriated/ embezzled by govt officials. |

They may not reproduce faster, but they sure try a lot. |
