Does anyone have any experience with Immigration giving you a hard time because your transcripts don't have a stamp or seal on the envelope?
My University (university of Oregon) puts a seal on the transcript itself and a disclaimer that says very clearly; "no other stamp other than this is necessary to validate."
But of course that isn't good enough for Korean Immigration, every transcript *envelope* must have a stamp.
So I'm in a catch 22. Has anyone found a way to resolve this? |

I just got my new E-2. My transcripts had no seal on the envelope. "Sealed transcripts" does not mean that they have the Seal of the University, it just means that the envelope is sealed and stamped with something showing that they are official. "ISSUED BY BLAH BLAH BLAH. INVALID IF OPENED" or something like that.
My envelope had just a signature over the sealed flap on the back and that was good enough.

Seriously, somebody just bribe somebody already!
I did just request one with a signature over the seal of the envelope. I guess that will do. |

Soju has become the Rodney Dangerfield of alcohol. |

Today, I was going to apply for my E-2. Right before I left, my boss called and she that she had opened my transcripts. But she called immigration, and they accepted them. Not sure why or how this happened, but no money or booze was exchanged. This was in Daegu, BTW. |

I was told 30% of visa applications are rejected because of the whole seal issue. (But that is very likely to be just another untrue and useless statistic.)
I went to my university and they knew exactly how to stamp, seal, sign etc.
I just figured it was worth the effort to not have any hassle from the embassy. |
