I really loved this stupid show called "MONKEY". It was maybe Japanese but was dubbed in Eng. It was pretty weird at the time with some really silly fight scenes.

This is PIGSY....do u rememember?

And also a Brit show called "METAL MICKEY".

i LOOOOVED the completely mental misadventures of Ed Grimley saturday morning cartoon.
I was on the channel by chance when it first came on in edmonton. I nearly died laughing that episode....
"i must say..."
Kudos to the man who put up "Small Wonder".
starring...the freakiest looking TV mom in history....AND hands down the most annoying sounding kid that has ever walked hte planet.
and yet...as i read his bio, apparently he did a LOT of voice over work as a kid.
Sadly, he hasn't done one project since playing "Pigskin" on Mr. Belvedere (another fine show).

i had such a crush on vicki...

I enjoyed "The Battle of the Network Stars" in which actors would compete against each other? I remember seeing the bios of stars and it was quite interesting.

Oh yeah, and then there was the Saturday Night Live wannabe show "Fridays," the highlight of which was Steve Martin doing a parody of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" video. Martin is dancing and one sidewalk block doesn't light, so he runs back and touches it and it lits up.

For you insomniacs, anyone remember "The Kenny Everett Video Show?"

I loved Sledge Hammer, but I was too young to get all the phallic references to the gun Wink

Didn't read the whole thread, so maybe someone has already mentioned it, but Sledge Hammer is now released on DVD. Both seasons.
I loved it.

One scene I wil never forget: When he arrives at a seige, he sees the terrorist guy on top of a large building. Graps the bazooka, fires and brings down the whole building.

Anyone remember the cop show Ohara starring Pat Morita of Karate Kid fame? I never saw it because it looked stupid and I also believe it was on Saturday night, when my Love Boat then Fantasy Island pattern was strong.

Need help with a title.
Stateside, there was a Knight Rider rip-off with a motorcycle instead of a car. The inventor of the bike was paraplegic, so his buddy, a rogue cop, rode it instead. The inventor was still able to control most of the "special functions" from his secret base though. Only lasted a dozen episodes or so. Maybe would have aired around 1984.
When I was six years old, it was a brilliant show. Saw a repeat maybe five years ago, realized my tastes had matured a bit.

My favorite show though was Voltron (Lion Voltron only though). Thanks to the Wu-Tang Clan and a Sprite commercial, the show is perhaps better remembered than it shoud be.

Metal Mickey -BBC family sitcom starring a robot who lives with a working class London family in the 80s.

Educating Marmalade - Sort a preview to those kids shows that have several 'asides' between the main character and the camera (viewer)-80s.

Beatbox - Aussie show that lasted a season (maybe 2) before Rage came along. More of a snapshot of youth/pop culture at the time - 1983 or 84.

Voyagers rocked! Get a Life too! everytime I head that REM song I think of that show...

Anyone remember the Great Space Coaster? I could've sworn I posed about this before, but none of my friends remember it and think I dreamed it up..

There was also that show (British I think) where there was that typewriter that typed by itself and something to do with other dimensions.. I was really young at the time, but the show always fascinated me even though I had no idea what was going on..

Hahaha, Street Hawk was pathetic. Former Solid Gold host Rex Smith was the hero and that series lasted as long as a single shot of vodka. He was awful on the variety show and awful in the motorcycle series.

Anyone remember Amazing Stories that was executive produced by Steven Spielberg?

Back in the States you can still (randomly) catch episodes on late night HBO.

Does anyone else remember Go-Bots? Man that show sucked, the Transformers were so much cooler.

"Mixed Nuts". A sitcom set in a home for the bewildered. Lasted maybe six episodes. Someone referred to 'Police Squad'. Six episodes, but gave birth to 'Naked Gun' and the sequels. Leslie Nielson, the Godfather of comedy, the funniest man who ever came from from the Yukon. May he live forever.
